    Need a couple of opinions

Now that the season is winding down and I find myself looking at my toy in the driveway more than being in the lake with it, I am finding that I now have a couple of trivial questions I'd like to get some opinions on.

    1. Where in the heck do you put the "performance engineered for" plaque? On my old 97 SKI there wasn't any question as to where it went but on my new 08 211, I can't find a spot where it looks good.

    and

    2. Is anyone running their boat without the snap-in carpet in place? I have considered taking mine out and keeping it stored so that when the time comes to upgrade, the carpet will still be in good shape. No matter how hard I try, the children will manage to get something on it. If I were to take it out, what are the possible consequences of this.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

    1. I didn't put mine in (not recommending, just saying)

    2. Consequences are stubbing your toe on snaps all the time. Just don't bring something in the boat like grape jelly and you'll be fine. I've had mine for 2 1/2 years now, had MANY picnics in it, and the carpet still looks new. The great thing about the snap in carpet is that you can take it out and clean it. Second consequence is that personally it cheapens the boat. I paid too much money for mine to not walk on carpet...

4 kids and have never had a problem with carpet in the boat - why is that?
Nothing but water to drink in the boat - want to eat? Wait till we stop then get
      out on the swim platform!

I would consider time spent with the kids way more important than a dirty carpet.
To clean the snap in carpet, take to out, and hang it on a fence, and pressure wash it. If it is hanging vertical, it will probably dry in a few hours.

          1. Didn't put mine on the boat either.

          2. The snap in carpet doesn't last as long as regular carpet anyway, just use and abuse then replace when needed. My 2005 with 480 hours needs new carpet. The backing is completely broken down and its full of stains. Corinthian currently has a group buy going for $375 for a complete replacement with better grade carpet.

I agree with Daniel, happy kids are more important than resale value of carpet. Heck, they probably will have fun spraying it with the hose when it gets stained!

I say this but I have grumbled a bit vacuuming out potato chip crumbs!

Thanks guys. $375 sounds like a heck of a deal. I will look into this further. Still can't figure out where to put that placque though.
