Sorry Tool, I kinda like it here. Got to have something to hold the bimini and ski racks. I would miss my tower mirror, though.

As for feet location, Front left in front of the windshield is I believe the GPS. Might could move it.

Crazy how they mount it behind the pylon. Must limit the skier to 22 off or something.

I'd love to see a good video of someone skiing shortline. I took a look at that (in the showroom) and just don't see how you'll get that close. I'm going to estimate the line would have to be within 10-15 degrees of perpendicular to the pylon.

On the flipside, I can see some getting bored and seeing if they can hit it! Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

That's better than it looks in the pictures. Still, I bet it's going to be an issue. I occasionally get ahead of the boat (not good) at 38 and 39. Probably even do it at 35 every now and then! Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

Mapple used to say he was always ahead of the pylon at 41. I would think they would pay attention to details like that if they are trying to create a world record capable boat.

And you would think Andy did, seeing how he's the one that designed it.

And you would think Andy did, seeing how heThought I'd share an email that i came across last week.

                "Don,

We tested the boat with the tower on it before Principles meeting. Chris Parrish and Myself both ran into 41off with it. NOW does the rope touch the tower, yes, we saw it make contact at 38 off onwards.
I do believe this is a perception that people will thing the tower hinders the length of the rope. It does not, because when the skier is at the ball, it is physically impossible to have the line tight and make a turn, so even though the line touches the tower, it will not impede the skiers performance. When the line is tight, the skier is already further back on the boat, and the rope is not near the tower.

In the "Pro Tour" days Mastercraft had a boat with a sort of roll over bar that provided a net for the boat crew. This roll over bar was much further back than the 200 tower, and many world records were set in those days of that boat.

Not sure if this rambling has answered your question, but feel free to have the customer email me if they still are not comfortable.

                Thanks

                Andy"

I guess I should clarify. I assumed that Andy and others had input to the design and this issue would be on their list of things to look at. So, what I'm trying to say is, if it got past those guys, we shouldn't be having any trouble with it.

I _specifically_ asked Andy this question at the Worlds. He was adamant that there would be no issue at all. Even for Gods like him. LOL Interestingly, Malibu Response LXi with some towers does have a problem with shortline. But there are other things (and I'm not saying Andy said anything regarding them... ) that will be an issue. The hinges for the storage or the step in the rear when the seat is removed. Year 2 should fix these we hope.

                        since we're hijacking this thread...

this has been my biggest question mark about the new 200 (i guess until the speed / RPM issue came to light).

i just can't take Andy's word for it and drop a few thousand on a tower that my eyes tell me is not going to work.

if seeing is believing...i'll wait to see it in action before committing myself.

It is a shame the PN logo is facing the wrong way.
