    Not simple on a Vdrive. That is about 15-20 hours of labor and the cost reflects that. Most shops would charge 75 to 100 per hour.

      You are correct 1,500 is expensive, it cost me 1,000 to remove my v-drive and replace with a rebuilt new motor. After I watched how they did it and saw how easy it is, I removed it the second time and replaced it, myself. It took me three hours to remove it and then another 3 hours to hook everything back up and tighten it. There is no way I would want to pull one without some help from someone who has already done it, and a fork lift.
