    Engine missing/skipping

I just had my exaust manifold gasket replaced and when I got my boat back from the shop, I had a bad skip in the engine. After the gasket was replaced I left the boat outside (with a cover on it), and did not run the boat for about 3 weeks. I assumed I had some bad gas or possibly some rain went in the vent. I ended up changing the plugs, draining the fuel/water seperater and adding some fuel treatment. The problem seemed to improve for a short period, but now is worse than ever. Anybody got any ideas on what could be the problem. The boat is an '07 206 with only 100 Hrs. It has the 330 HP PCM engine.

Double check your spark plug wires to ensure the boots are fully seated on the plugs.

spark plug wire crossed bad wire cracked plug but i would look for wire crossed wrong firing order

Wrong firing order would never get better. I would think this is probably not the case. You should start by cleaning the dist cap and replacing the rotor. small cracks that accumulate moisture will track the spark.

Are you sure the gasket is sealed well, water could be dripping from the manifold onto the HT lead causing a short, which would result in the engine skipping a beat. Look for signes of water leakage while you run the boat at speed.

I don'g believe that it is crossed plug wires because I only pulled/replaced one at a time. I will go back to check to see if they are on tight. I guess there could be a distributor problem but this boat does have low hours. I haven't seen water leakage around gasket but I will check that again also. Any more ideas will be appreciated.

My advice would be to start over. Verify cap is clean and not cracked. Get out the manual and verify firing order, that the wires on installed as such, and then hit it with a light.
              Maybe the disty is loose?

Earlier this year someone had a miss & it turned out to be a bad plug. As cheap as plugs are, you might consider throwing a new set it. Or just buy 1 & try it individually in each of the 8 cyl's Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

That just it, I just replace the set @ $4/plug.
