    Ballast bag install question

What thread sealant have you all used on your bag fittings? Thanks

    RE: Ballast bag install question

I got it from Home Depot. Fly High said not to use the primer/glue PVC combo (probably because the primer actually softens the plastic and could ruin your threads. It was the all purpose glue). Ill see if I can find it and get a part # off of it.

Just the threads on the bags and hose clamps on the hoses here.

Thanks, I cant remember what the Flyhigh guy told me, but I think it was along the lines of what Seth said.

No. But you could get rubber caps at Home Depot for them. Not a bad idea. There is other semi shapr stuff in there, too. Never had a problem however.
My bags push on my dividers pretty hard too, but my motor is right there to stop them.

My bags have never had a problem and I never covered the bolts. I think the bag hits the angle in the stern on the 2001 SAN. I did have to cut a bunch of bolts and screws in the ski locker though.

I have the stock ballast in the locker, so no worries here. I would like to add another bag somewhere in the front of the boat, just haven't decided what to go with

I throw orange CGA vests between the bag and the screws. That way they are in the boat and out of the way!

Smart. Dual purpose, keeps you legal.

Do the 750's fit with the stock tanks in there? I cut mine out the day I got the boat home.

My mistake. I was thinking lockers, as in the rear compartments. Not the center locker. I just leave a bag full in there and opted to not annex that to my auto system. I do not tow, generally, and it also helps offset the additional weight in the back from the big pig of a motor.

Not sure either. My tanks fell out last year.
