    750 install

Hey guys I scored some fly high 750 lbs sacs. I had a couple questions. I am currently using the vdrive sacs on top of the hard tanks. My questions are, do I still have to plug the discharge ports, and will these bags siphon themselves out like the piggyback method does.
    Thanks

jward, let me know what you come up with. I am getting ready to purchase some 750's for mine and replace the 400's.

Do you have aerators or ballast puppys? I am assuming aerators. I have ballast puppys with 750's and green impellers and have no water loss in mine. I would assume that you are going to still lose water with the 750's with aerators.

The ballast puppies are check valves, you will not lose water with them.

I have aerators right now. Not sure if I will upgrade. Depends on how this goes. Man I can't wait to get rid of these hard tanks.

On a side note, if anyone needs 2 vdrive sacs let me know.

Save the vdrive sacs and use them for surf weight or bow weight. You will need to off set the 750 with more in the nose anyways. I saved one of my 400s and that is where I put it.

Brad is right. You will want the sacs.
And do yourself the favor, get the puppies for the back bags at the very least. You will be happier for that than ditching the tanks.

I have a sac in the bow, and I never surf at all. Someone post up a link of what kind of ballast puppies to get.

They seem more expensive now so shop around. Last winter these guys were doing a group buy price of $185 each.

There used to be a guy on ebay that was selling them for $200 each. You might try there.

will do thanks guys. Does anyone use this set up with aerators. I'm cheap so to be honest I will probably see if this will drive me crazy before I drop 400-500 bucks to pump water in and out of a sac.

                          RE: 750 install

I know its sounds expensive but for me my time is more precious. I usually ride with three to four guys in the afternoon during the week. We all have families and are on borrowed time. We used to spend 30 solid minutes if not more using aerator style pumps to fill up the sacs and then quit 30 minutes early to empty them to make it home on time. Now its full by the time we get to the cove (less than ten minutes) and them empty when we hit the dock. No valves to push or turn just the flip of a switch. After doing the install its the single best upgrade to my boat hands down.

And to answer your question on the aerators, no one on this site is using that type of setup that I know of. I really don't know how you would keep the water from flowing back out of the bags without a manual valve. You could fill from the top and it would not drain, but the flip side to that is they would not empty correctly. You would have push on the bag to keep the fitting below the waterline in the bag.

Some cheap pvc valves from home depot inline would work but would be a pain to turn on and off to fill and empty.

Well I think I have this all figured out. That is to use the original fill and drain pumps on the new sacs. The way I have done this will work almost exactly the same way the ballast puppies do, in that only 2 hoses are connecting to each sac. Will post pics after I water test it this weekend.

I do have a couple questions though. How do you guys protect the sacs from the 4 swim deck bolts in the very back of the boat? Or does this just not seem to be a problem? Also, do I need to support my pannels in any way to keep them from bowing toward the engine?

Go to lowes or home depot and get some rubber screw covers in the misc. screw and bolt section. They come in all different colors. I believe you will need 5/16".
