Creating a template for SV211 carpeting

After all the inquiries I've been getting on here for Aquamats, I figured I'd share some photos with everyone on tracing a template for custom fit snap-in carpeting. A lot of boats we actually have templates for on file; however, the Nautique SV211 '04 to '08 model happens to be one we don't--So, I figured this would make the best example for sharing on here. I'd like to give a special thanks to fellow planetnautique members paleotm and madboater2 for their time and patience with their old carpets, as well as Bruce @ Northwest Ski and Watersports in Tigard, Oregon for letting us use his facilities. How consistent is CC in snap placement? Can we just order the carpet and expect it to fit perfectly or do we need to create our own template. I know that my stock carpet is not a perfect fit.

After receiving two seperate carpet sets and photos from two '04 SV211's, I can tell you that CC is not entirely consistent with their snap placement. I'm sure they have some tolerances they can abide by, but there definitelty seems to be some differences. That is why we prefer to ship the new carpet with the snaps loose, for the owner to install. If the snap placement is just slightly off, the carpet will 'buckle' and not fit properly. Now that we have made a template from hand-tracing the outline in an '04, the carpet itself should fit properly.

Most of the templates for CC that I have on hand are for '08 models and up, that is why I'm always looking for good quality templates of older models to add to our library. Here is a list of what I have thus far. All of the '08 and '09 models are on digitized format.

Is it the same for a 206? at least on the side and aft of the motor I wouldn't want it over the battery / cooler.

Good question...I'm not entirely sure of the floor pattern of the 206. Send me a PM with your e-mail, and I can send you a drawing of the pattern I have for the 196.
