I have heard several rumors that the 216V will be taking over the SV211. The SV211 is going to be faded out at the end of next year. Is the rumor true?

the 216v was intended to be the replacement for the 211, but they decided to keep it on as an entry level cost boat and let the 216v be the optioned out alternative. What their plans are now, I don't know. But I wouldn't bet against it with the current economic times. Surviving companies have to get lean.

I have always heard that the 211 was "correct craft's best selling boat offered" Now after a 6 year run, they are going to be phasing out their best seller? That and the 216 doesnt even match up to the 211 size wise. It is like going from a ranger to a f150.

I haven't seen the new 216V so I looked at the Nautique website.
The 211 is 20' 9" (plus platform), weighs 3500# and seats 10 and the 216V is 20' 11", 3900# and seats 12. The 216V looks like it has more freeboard.

The 216V is a completely different boat, it has, what I consider a more refined, polished interior, much like the 230. I don't know what it is like to ride or ski behind but the only thing the 211 and the 216V have in common is that they are both labled "crossover".
For 2009 they took the 211 way down-market, only one color on the hull - and this is limited to five choices: white, black, red, blue, or green, no stripe or color above the rub rail, no choice of interior color other than the stripe (carpet, seats and piping only come in one color), keyed ignition only - no keypad, no stereo options, no lighting options, no engine options, comes with nautique cruise only. Go to Nautiques.com and build a 211 then build a 216 and you'll see the difference in where the place the two boats in the market. I'm sure the only question they are asking is are the bare bones 211's selling and are they making money on them.
It looks like they reduced the ballast capacity to 625 lbs from 730 lbs that way they can say it holds 10.

I doubt the 211 is going anywhere. 216v has not been successful, and is regarded as inferior to the 211 as a crossover boat. My dealer only ordered one because he was told he had to by CC. It is still sitting on the floor. He claims it was a huge mistake by cc and doubts many will sell. I like the interior allright, but the rest you can keep. I think my 211 will stick with me for a long time.

And yes the 216V has been a major dog for the dealers..too expensive, not a good crossover and the looks are to much like a BU. A local dealer near by has the same two 216V's he ordered last winter still in stock and can't sell them. I guess the factory is sitting on a couple dozen 2009 216V's that were built and not taken by dealers.
My vote is they should keep the 211 and freshen it up and then do something else with the 216V

I do all three popular sports behind my 211 (wake, surf, ski, in that order). The 211 fits my needs PERFECTLY. It's usually just my wife and I although we'll have 6-7 out on our boat occasionally. Eliminating the team edition from the 211 line basically guaranteed CC that I won't "freshen" my 211 in a couple of years. I have no interest in the 216V as the ski wake is supposedly not very good (I'll admit I haven't skied behind it) and that tower. Good lord what a hideous piece of equipment.
The ONLY thing I can figure is that they didn't allow the 211 to be optioned up to make people jump to 216V. They could have offered a stripper to entise lower purchase price people, and still keep the team edition for those of us that are willing to spend the extra money.
Hopefully CC will reverse their decision to axe the TE 211. I think it has something to do with the loss of market share from 2008 to 2009.2001 Ski Nautique / 2007 SV211 TE (gone but not forgotten)
