At a party last night I was talking to a CC promo guy I know and he told me that for 2010 and on Correct craft is changing the warranty on new models to 3 years instead of 5. Did I miss this somewhere? I am on here a lot and have not seen it yet. I know this would save cc a lot of money on claims but their warranty is what sets them apart from the other brands in a big way. I think going to 3 years would kind of even the playing field so to speak.

RE: warranty for 2010 boats
Perhaps this is news that will be updated soon, but....
I just looked in the 2010 brochure and it states the 5 Year Warranty is there. It states "We go to great lengths to guarantee our boats."
In my opinion, 3 would be ok since it is a Correct Craft. After you get the bugs out of a new boat, you are not going to have many problems unless you trash or abuse your Nautique. Face it, not many folks can afford to let a 75K boat sit out in the sun or tied up to a dock in the water to rot and decay....
Nautique is really one of the only companies in the world that actually delivers what you pay for anyway!

RE: warranty for 2010 boats
CC did change the warranty for 2010. Since 2002 the majority of the warranty was 5 years parts and labor. Engine warranty became PCM's 3 year warranty in 04 or 05 and the gel coat warranty became 3 years in 2006. For 2010 the 5 year parts warranty remains but labor is only 3 years. Lifetime hull, deck and stringer remains unchanged. Still an unsurpassed warranty but not quite as good as years past.

RE: warranty for 2010 boats
My first statement is going to be HARSH - What the Heck are you all saying. Going backwards from 5 to 3 on labor would be OK. NO WAY. I realize this is a CC but that is why I buy CC's in part is for the 5 year warranty. Personally I think it would be complete unacceptable to go backwards. Anyone with me. This is HUGHE...
TW - please advise where you got this information?

RE: warranty for 2010 boats
Crads,
Info is straight from CC.
WA-H20,
All CC warranties are 5 year transferable. Since it is a 2003 boat it is doubtful you had the option to transfer the warranty. However, if the original date (when the boat 1st sold as a new boat) of purchase was less than 5 years ago it was eligible to transfer for $300.00. However, this transfer must take place within 15 days of your purchase and a proof of purchase is required.

RE: warranty for 2010 boats
Guys I am a loyal nautique owner and probably always will be but a five year warranty really set CC apart. In my opinion correct craft quality has come down a bit. My old nautique was a lot older than my new one and it never left me stranded and i never had problems with vinyl that were not my fault. I have heard from many new owners and my dealer that the vinyl especially has been a problem in the last few years. My new nauti has been in the shop more in two years than my old one was in in seven. I am one of the most anal people around when it comes to maintenance and taking care of my boat So I am pretty sure its not my fault. I hope it is just coincidence and the problems I have had were just new model first year or two bugs. . I hope that cc doesn't begin to aim for a three year boat like some other brands. I have been in some 2-3 year old MC's and BU's this year and they seem to be falling apart. The bu I drove was an 08 VLX and all the dash buttons for the radio and ballast seemed to be worn out. The 3 year old MC's have interiors that are falling apart. These boats all belong to people who take excellent care of them and it just seems they don't hold up as well as correct craft. As I was driving the bu I was thinking to myself that all this crap was broken and the boat only had 2 seasons of use on it. I guess my main concern is that if the warranty period is reduced some may not buy CC any more and CC may not be as inclined to build with the same standard they always have.00 SAN 210 (previous boat)

RE: warranty for 2010 boats
I know this isn't part of this thread.......... but seems lame to me they have a lifetime stringer, hull, and deck warranty, but after the boat is 5 years old, the lifetime warranty is no good for the 2nd owner.2003 Ski Nautique 196 LE - Current Boat (Star Gazer w/ ZBox)

RE: warranty for 2010 boats
Are '09 and older boats grandfathered in with the 5 year labor warranty? Meaning I bought an '09, so do I still have 5 years labor covered? Because in my opinion, I know it's a CC, and Yeargin could have built my boat himself and personally delivered it to me, but 5 years to 3 on labor is a big deal. Its still a boat. I've already had to have my dampener plate replaced. They told me the work involved with it, and if I had to pay for it, I would have pooped myself.
I mainly bought a CC because of the perceived quality in the build process and more importantly the engine. This thread is making me want to go check out MB's!

RE: Re: RE: warranty for 2010 boats
Wow. This is not a good thing for those of us who upgrade every few years. The ability town a boat for two seasons and sell it with a 3 year warranty was nice and helped resale values. Glad to know my '09 has more of a warranty than a 2010.2012 Axis A22 - on order
