The percentage decline in units is not surprising and is line with what I'm experiencing at my business. It is tough. Thank goodness our vendors understand. We work with our customers that need time to pay, and our vendors (most anyway) are working with us. The biggest issue is our federal government and their ideologies. So far they're not good. The USA has the ability to get this train back on track and pretty fast, but if the government continues to get in the way, we're toast. BTW, the only way we've been able to survive this long is we've had to layoff people. I hate that. You can't imagine how hard that is. But if we don't do it, everyone at the business is out of a job. Get the freaking government out of the way and let the people bring this country and economy back. The ever-increasing national debt is NOT helping.

The data shows MC and BU went up in market share from 08 to 09 and are out selling CC by almost 2-1 and CC went down in market share 2.2% from 08 to 09.
Wonder if this is going to continue or what will happen in the future for CC. :?:

From the first paragraph of the article:
"These statistics are based on registration data from 48 states, with two not reporting, or 99 percent of the U.S. boat market."
Now is this 2009 boats that were registered? Or new boats registered in 2009. Very different numbers. My guess is that it is 2009 boats, but what if it isn't?the WakeSlayer

As a business man, Christian, conservative, look to next year's election for a glimpse of hope and sanity. We MUST return to the foundation, priciples and the 10 Commandments on which we were built. Rid ourselves of political correctness, and remember freedom has NEVER, nor ever will be free.
If the incumbents win the day, I fear apathy and an entitlement ideology will have overcome our great nation, and we may never recover.

Mike, you're the man, but you've gotta open your eyes. It was too much deregulation that was primarily responsible for getting us into this mess. I'm sure the hundreds of charities that invested their hard-earned donations with Bernie Madoff wish the SEC would have had more regulation.I Nautique, therefore I am.

Valid point; and about 45 seconds into this video and beyond we see who was against more regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac:

I love youtube; there's just no denying what was said.

Theres no doubt that the majority of members of congress are corrupt. I worked for a congressman this summer and learned it first hand. However, the idea that even more deregulation will help us in our current economic state is preposterous.I Nautique, therefore I am.

My above post was meant to illustrate where the core problems are, and what they have led to.2007 Ski Nautique 196 Limited/ PP/ Mods

Political correctness= as in teachers can't grade papers in "red" ink because it offends. Calling a spade a spade. Parents who don't want their children to say the pledge of allegiance, so they sue, and people let it happen.
Hasan, the Muslim "TERRORIST" who killed our troops at Ft. Hood last week. He's NOT a person who just commited a crime..........he's a MUSLIM terrorist.
The KKK hanging black people were WHITE TERRORIST's. PERIOD!!
The silent majority can no longer afford to be silent, lest they lose their country.
Remember the cold war?! Reagan said, "WE WIN, THEY LOSE"! PERIOD!! Tell it like it is.
As for our troops, past, present, and future, and their families, we can NEVER thank them enough. GOD BLESS THEM, and THE USA!!!

I was talking to a dealer yesterday and he is not sure how much he will invest in CC boats for 2010. He said there will be a $20,000 -$30,000 difference between a similarly equipped 23 foot V drive between CC and Malibu. He said he will custom order for people but won't stock many. Two of our local CC dealers now offer Malibu also. With that much difference Malibu will sell 3 to 1.
