Penske bailed MC out losing 40 million. How is MC leading when the factory was closed from around March to June in 2009. Anyone can lead if they sell a unit below invoice. How is MC going to sell the 2010-2011 at retail when they were blowing out 2007-2009's below invoice?

BU and MC are pretty evenly matched with the big share of the boat biz..This is nothing new. It is just a fact..CC sells 50% less boats then the 2 big guys.

I tell you what though, CC is blowing away all other manufacturers in ski boats still on the water 1950-1989 in my area. I was however pleasantly surprised to see a bunch of various 80s and 90s ski boats on the California Delta last winter.

I would think each area is slightly different. I went to the MC dealer before purchasing my CC and it was painful. They still had a large 07-08 stock they couldn’t sell. I felt sorry for the salesman. I'm sure my CC dealer is hurting, but it looked like he was in a much better position. Although I'm a CC fan, you have to admit that it’s hard to beat Malibu as a family boat. CC must be aiming for the high end market with their continued price increases. It might be a bad business decision for them in the long run.

First off, when I say family I mean young kids. Not the family with the semi-pro 15 year-old. Look at who's driving what boat brand next time you are on the lake. I feel the Malibu is designed and priced as a family boat.
My friend has a 247 LSV and the interior is giant! I don’t have kids, but I know they require a lot of crap and space. Now compare that to CC largest boat. I don’t feel the interior of the 230 is designed to maximize storage and seating like the Malibu. I would also say that my friend’s Malibu has a much more kid / general water sport friendly wake than the 230. I won’t even get into comparing prices.
I'm not bashing. I love everything about the 230 including the seating, but I'm a wakeboarder that likes to boat. I feel most Malibu owners are boaters who like to wakeboard. This is just my perception and I’m sure both boats work well for families. When I do have kids, my 03 210 SANTE will work just fine!

I've got three words for you as to why the 230 is far superior as a family boat - SNAP OUT CARPET.
If I were to ever get a BU again for some reason, I'd have to get a carpet overlay.2012 Axis A22 - on order

The BUs I looked at had a lot of jewelry and razzle dazzle the 247 stereo was outstanding they also performed well on the water. I can see the family attraction. The turn off for me is the 3 year warranty, Indmar drive, glue down carpet and overall materials used in construction. When I looked at 2-3 year old boats they didnt look their age. I dont think they will hold up over time.

Also isn't that 247 listed at something like 90k, how is that family value?
