How iSV 211 to barefoot behind

Thinking about breaking down and going from a 2005 216 direct drive to a 211. How is the comparison long line barefooting and out to the side???

    Thanks!

I traded my 04 211 for an 07 216 just because I hated to foot behind the 211. The hull spray creates a ripple when long lining and I could never find a sweet spot at any line length. I had to purchase a DD pylon so I could have it machined for a quad v boom with all the extensions and still got a TON of hull spray. Wake crossing is challenging. If you like to walk out the boom (while boat is moving) it was a long way down, so cool weather footing was a challenge if you don't like to get wet.

Personally I think there is MORE people room in the 216 then 211.

PM if you would like my number and I will be happy to talk to you.

I foot behind my 211 about a half dozen times each year. The trough is deep and somewhat foamy (with my fresh air exhaust). The 211 is SLOW out of the hole, this is one of the main reasons I am looking to upgrade the motor. I have taught 3 others to foot behind longline my 211, I put the rope on the tower for beginners. That said it's not that bad if you are an accomplished footer, I think my rope is about 85'? My wife gives the boat a little kick turn to help me get outside the wake once it's over 35MPH. Don't even think of getting less than the ZR6 if you are a footer, learn from my mistake.
