    Best Option for PerfectPass

I want to add PerfectPass to my 93 SNCB next summer. I do not want the GPS based systems given the chatter and problems I am reading about on the board. I will mainly run on a river as well.

Is there a good place on-line look for an older PerfectPass Pro paddlewheel system? (Wakeboard & Ski modes) Is there still a way to get a "new" system without the GPS?

check out www.ski-it-again.com for potential used ones. They also show up on ebay as well.

Don't know if they sell PP without GPS. However, Stargazer includes both the GPS version and PP Classic.

There is a guy on wakeworld that has a hybrid GPS and Paddle wheel system that he uses on the Delta. You should look it up the paddle wheel corrects for the current and the gps hold sheep in the turns. I think he called PP and they helped him put the system together and it has been working fine.

The StarGazer control box has an input for a paddle wheel and GPS, Perfect Pass told me both could be hooked up, but the system would use one or the other not both. The hybrid on Wakeworld was done after I installed mine so so it may work differently now.

93, I have a 93 Excel and found out through spending to much time on Correct Craft Fan that the wiring to my dash was a little undersized and the fact that everything is daisy-chained together doesn't help either. I just installed a heater and while I had things apart I ran an extra 10 ga power and ground to the dash. Before my Perfect Pass would have low voltage issues if I turned on more than 3 things at once, now I've got +12 volts at the dash with everything running which was the max I saw on the gauge before.

93 - Did you install it with a paddle wheel or are you running purely on GPS. I have not seen a GPS system in action, but I am not very interested in going that route without having some experience. All my friends with Nautiques run on their paddlewheels.

              Thoughts?

Depending on how strong the current is on the river I would include the GPS. It will take the guess work out of getting the times correct when dealing with wind and the current in the slalom course. It will be much more user friendly when your wife drives.
