    Just got a SANTE 220...Questions

I just got an 07 SANTE 220 and I've got some questions.

-First, Is this tower strong enough to pull a tuber rough without cracking fiberglass, etc? Is the tower and mounts to boat covered under lifetime structure, hull?

-next, I'm looking for additional fat sacs and have read about piggybacking vdrive sacs ontop of orginal tanks. To me it seems like 400lbs would crush those plastic tanks. Is this ok? do I need to place a flat piece of wood or something on top of factory tanks first? Can 750lb sacs be used? What about putting sacs up higher in boat under seats? Is that ok? I normally don't have a lot of people in boat so where can I put fat sacs properly in boat?

-weight location- I'm a beginner wakeboarder and really can only jump from one side good so how should I position the weight in boat? put it all on that side?

-How do I get to replace fuses up under driver seat if need to? They seem to have some sealed plastic boot over each fuse. How do you get to them?

Thanks for help with a newbie.

    Congrats on the new boat.

    1) Do not pull a tube from the tower. Really, don't pull them at all, but if you have to, use the towpoint on the back, or the little pylon, I don't remember which the 220 has. Any damage like you are referring to is going to be out of your pocket. 100%.

    2) 400lbs will not crush those tanks. Nor will 750's but 400's will be fine for your boat with the stock ballast. I would just leave your ballast alone for a season. No need for it til you have good fundamentals down, going both ways.

    3) Repeat: You do not need any additional weight on that wake at that level. Learn off the wake you have, it is plenty big. For future reference, you want the boat balanced, not listing one way or the other.

    4) You can download an owner's manual in the Reference section of this site. What fuse if blown?

Correct Craft does not recommend pulling a tuber from the tower. You would be amazed at the forces a tube can apply to a tower at pulling speeds. I pull my 4 year old at 10mph but no one else.

I responded to your other thread on the ballast setup, but will add that a piggy back system fills the hard tanks first so no risk of crushing them.

Also the pickyback setup that Flyhigh sells is probably the best to get. My buddy has one and it was really nice. go to fatsac.com and check it out.

Welcome to PN! You'll find this site full of all sorts of useful and useless fun facts (mainly the prior). First, just heads-up, your tube question will likely turn your post into a debate on whether one should even be allowed tow a tube behind a Nauti. I'm of the opinion that you should do/tow whatever you want with your boat. On the few occasions that I've pulled my kids around on a tube, I used the rear pylon.

As far as weight, keep it balanced side to side and front to back. You'll want to go toe side too. If you put too much weight in the back and not enough in the front, your wake with be mushy. The only time I run weight on one side is for wakesurfing. You can put fat sacs over the factory tanks no problem. But for a beginner, the factory ballast should be more than sufficient. I've been wakeboarding since the days of the Skurfer, (20 years or so) and I normally only run factory ballast. I just don't like the way my boat handles with excess weight. But that is just me. If you are new to boating, I wouldn't recommend running additional weight until you are comfortable with the boat as is. The weight really affects your handling.

I believe the fuse box for the 220 is in the engine compartment, I could be wrong, not an expert with that model. The module under the dash is your central control and not serviceable, as far as I know.

Hopefully that gives you some useless info to get going. Enjoy the new ride!

i believe those are the breakers not fuses. if something gets tripped on the boat the breaker trips in the boot and you just press it back in to reset it.
