    What are your winter projects?

I tend to frequent the other CC site and love reading about their projects. That being said I know its winter now and everyone plans to do some sort of upgrade. Lets make this a project thread that everyone can upload progress photos and show the latest and greatest. I will upload some pictures tonight as I just got my trailer back from the shop.

My project list is as follows:

Convert trailer to a tandem - replace chrome wheels with something custom
Upgrade trailer jack and winch to Fulton F2 series
Powder Coat all black hardware and trim that has faded
Finish upgraded by bass project - wetsounds syn 1 amp and XXX sub
Upgrade to new CMD6 to get usb ipod support
Patch holes from previous Bimini mounts in deck gel coat
Engineer new divider panels to keep 750lb ballast bags off of manifolds when full
Add some more LEDs and put on a seperate circuits and switches
    2001 Super Air Nautique
    Python Powered
    100 Amp Alternator
    Dual Batteries
    Many upgrades coming...

RE: What are your winter projects?

I am done replacing seals, etc and painting the engine and trans from the Mustang. Boat is going to be stripped and painted this winter. Crappy windshield replaced with new original.

Replace stringers in the 67 Nautique.

These will keep me busy most of the winter.

RE: What are your winter projects?

I have several of the same. My major project this winter is interior:
      1) new skins due next week, all interior pulled and ready to rock
      2) windshield frame pulled for powdercoating
      3) minor gel coat repair in two places
      4) wet-sand > 3M rubbing compound > 3M Finesse-It II > Wax entire hull
      5) new interior speakers, amps and sub install (thanks for the sub BC), rewire tower
      6) re-install new interior components
      7) get on the lake in early March!

Took out my upholstery to give the boat a well needed cleaning. (Will post pics.)

Removed all decals and looking to wet sand & buff the gelcoat to original color or as close to original as possible. (Have started & will post pics.)

Replace the old 98' Air Nautique decals with the 00'-03'"AIR" decals and some sort of "NAUTIQUE" decal across the back of the boat.

I need to find bimini top clamps for my New Dimension tower, the 1"-5/8" clamps are expensive through New Dimension. I found some clamps at DIY Wake but the smallest they have is 1"-7/8" so I’m looking to make some sort of bushing for the 1"-7/8" clamps to fit my tower.

Make my gravity fed ballast system fully automatic and try to pipe in some extra ballast. (Will post ideas)

New stereo system. (See how the money situation is after all of the above is taken care of)

New upholstery. (See how the money situation is after all of the above is taken care of. I did get an estimate for the skins only and I’m very tempted to attempt putting on the skins myself.)

RE: What are your winter projects?

          Here is my plan:
-Get and install towerbimini (waiting for the group buy)
-get and install TH valves (cheap temporary fix for now)
-install new center ballast level sender
          -buff out hull
          -clean and shampoo carpet
-re-design stereo and subwoofer enclosure and add dedicated amp for sub
-possibly re-pinstripe the silver devider stripe
-look into tandem conversion or a new trailer

That should keep me slightly busy

mhaaland, how do you get that front bow wrap-around side seat cushion out and how difficult was it to remove? I have a small area of damage it the front on mine and want to take it in to get fixed.

              As for my projects:

Fix center ballast gauge sender (done)
              Repair front cushion
Build a wrap around seat for behind the driver
Maybe add 2 tower speakers with amp depending on cash flow

                i have 2 questions .
                1. bchesley and WakeSlayer at the bottom of your post you have your boats and boat projects listed, how do you put those there?
                2. I'm toying around with the idea of building a seat with a back rest and a built in cooler(i guess it would really be a lounge seat) on the starboard side of my boat and tying it in with the rear seat. first off being a DD it is already lacking in walking area & this would take up more, my only justification with doing this is that i store a big cooler there and don't walk there much anyway. (drawing attached below, sorry for the bad drawing.)

shooter, lift up from the bottom of the side cushion and it should pop up. when you get to the very front there may be a few screws from the boat going into the back of the cushion. i just pulled hard enough and the cushion came out. i have no idea how anyone got in the front to put those screws there and i'm not sure how i'm going to screw it back in because it is a very tight fit.

                    1. get gelcoat repaired after highway incident
                    2. add 2 750 fly highs in the rear and 1 in the bow
                    3. replace rear vents on both sides with new factory ones
                    4. detailing, waxing, etc.

                          1. Exhaust upgrade: Remove my factory muffler, add a second 4" exhaust port, convert the FAE into 4" mandrel bent dual inlet, cut o2 sensors into my exhaust risers.
                          2. Go back to an Acme 644 prop, after having 8 different props on my 211, I found the 644 is the best all around performer.
                          3. Redo the underwater lighting
                          4. clean up some temporary underdash switches I have running my LEDs
                          5. Maybe buy another MEFI4b and mefiburn program and remap the fuel and spark programs? I'd learn lessons on this motor than on a new high dollar stroker.

                          6. Looks like the stroker motor may not make it this year unless I get a BIG bonus.

I really like those graphics with your colors. I do not always like that style depending on the color scheme. My buddy's 99SAN is blue and purple with those graphics and it looks bada$$.

Do you not like them, or just cannot get them?
