No more World Champion Ski boat

After so many years pulling the most important waterski championship Correct Craft lost the train:

    http://www.iwsf.com/dbheadlines/showarticle.php?id=408

For me it was very important to see the Ski Nautique in the worlds, I'm really ungry with the company, it seems that CC is more affected by the crisis than MC. At least this is the image they are showing to us.

No Bucks, No Buckrogers... :?: Seeing how this is a paid for event to have the tow boat rights your correct. Seems MC does have the deep pockets and CC dosent.....Oh well another nail in the coffin. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

Wouldnt ya think after all the dough CC put into the SN 200 that they would want to show it off at the worlds to maybe get a few people to buy one or two of them?

When one has a great product one doesn't have to pay or give away their product! It speaks for itself.

i agree that we need to do some marketing. from the stat forum we are in a very distant 4th in market. selling boats is where r&d gets its money.

Does anyone know the details of the agreement? Other than the length of the agreement, it's hard to tell what is lying under the surface. What's the investment, what kind of exposure can be expected, does the investment escalate over the term? Is it assumed that BU is in dire straights because they aren't pulling the worlds? Has anyone ever thought that MC was the only one willing to jump into the water with the IWSF....obviously the cost/benefit was not what it needed to be for CC to sign up. CC most certainly has a different strategy than MC concerning R&D and marketing dollars, MC developed a $300,000, 30 foot cruiser while CC developed a high performance ski boat....you be the judge on who is spending their money in the right place..

And, while this may sound lame and irrelevant, 7 consecutive JD Powers awards means CC is still #1 where it counts. It's an independent survey, so none of that, "it's a skewed award" stuff. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

I think a good product is what sells the product. Sure, some advertising can help, but if you're selling junk, all the ads/marketing in the world won't help.
That's part of what's wrong with things these days. We've got more people doing work like marketing, finance, whatever than actually making things. It used to be the other way around.

This is exactly the reason I bought a Nautique. All I see on my lake are MCs and BUs, but when I did all my research before buying one I say CC was the best product, warranty, motor, and mpgs. Probably the biggest reasons anyone would buy a boat.

Yes its been a seven time win for CC.....But...Were it counts is MC and BU are still selling 2 boats for every 1 CC sold.

Wouldnt you think it would be the other way around if JD Powers was such a valuable award? :???:

CC makes a good product but they are coming up short on marketing and retail sales :!:

JD Powers is not about units sold...........it's about customers happy with their purchase, service, treatment, and the likelihood they'll return. Loyal customers = future repeat sales, and word of mouth sales.

Also, we've already discussed "sold" unit's. I want all of the companies to survive, and prosper.......................but for now I'm too dam worried about the survival of our country. And I mean worried like never before.

                        Regards sir!!

Selling more boats doesn't mean they are selling better boats - quantity doesn't equate to quality. Last I checked Mercedes wasn't competing with Ford for the highest sales volume.

Value equals sales. When some one buys a boat they take all things into account and make their purchase. CC makes a nice boat but for most people it is not the best value or CC would be selling the most boats. They may be the best built boat but charge so much for the boat that it is not a good value. It is simple economics. Malibu and MC make better value boats. If that was not true they would not sell as many boats. Sometimes its funny to read how great we think our CC boats are. There are just as many or more MC and Malibu owners that think their boats are built better and they will quote you just as many awards as we do here.
