Listing a prostar 190 for sale...where to do it?

Ok, this might be a stupid question.

I upgraded from a 1995 prostar 190 to a 2008 CC 206

Can I list my prostar for sale in the boats for sale forum even though it is not a correct craft.
Any help appreciated.

That marketplace doesn't seem to get a lot of attention. But I'd list it there anyway, it can't hurt. I'd list it on only inboards or one of the other online boat sites too. Ebay gets a lot of attention.

When I was selling my MC 205 a few years ago, I listed it on all of the above and on dallasboats4sale.com.

As far as potential buyers for the buck goes, ebay won hands down. I did it as a Buy it Now or Best Offer listing, which enabled me to gauge what it might fetch, but enabled me to retain control over the ultimate sale (and also kept the offers private).

In the end, I had an offer I could live with by the end of the week. I had a potential buyer from the MC site as well. When it got down to about 12 hours left in the ebay listing, I gave the buyer from the MC site a call and told him that I planned to sell it on ebay unless he decided he wanted it by 4 pm that day. He decided that he did want it and I declined the ebay offer and towed the boat half way to Canada to its new owner.

One thing on the MC site. As was mentioned, the "marketplace" is pretty well obscured by all of the other buttons, bells, and whistles. I took the liberty of starting a thread on my boat listing and posted as many pictures of it as I could get my hands on. I'm not sure how appreciated that tactic is over there. But at the time, I was the moderator and decided to let it slide. :grin:

For some reason, Mark has been selling used stuff pretty well in the winter time, better than in the summer for some odd reason. I suggest you try to do a consignment deal with him. It worked for me on one of my boats.
