    Factory cover supports

Can anyone advise me on what to do with the two poles with all the straps on them that came with the factory cover. I understand they are used to support the cover from the underside, but my pervious boats had snaps on the underside of the cover and the top of the poles to keep them in place. Any help on how to strap everything together to get the proper support from the poles and straps?

Do you have something like this:

I have only seen covers that have straps that tie to the trailer or around the tower.

I believe they are just generic - The only reason is if you are leaving it out in the rain where the cover would sag
due to liquid accumulation. But who really cares if it is left out for that abuse?

I'm a super anal person, it's in dry storage, totally enclosed, but I still want to put the cover on correctly just in case. It's in a metal storage building and it's not 100% water tight sometimes. Once we move it to the lake house, it will hang in the boat lift for the summer then go to storage for the winter so I want to make sure it's on properly there as well. The boat lift is covered to, but is open on the sides and with the Texas storms water is sure to find it's way to the top of the cover.

I don't have anything similar to what is shown in the link abve. I'll have to take a photo of what I have. Seems to maybe be the same concept, but different components.

It sounds like you have a Ameritec cover! Does the cover have ratchet straps to tighten at the transom?? If so the poles and straps are designed to rigidly prop up the cover and when installed correctly the cover will be tight as a drum.

Yes, it does have ratchet straps in a little sipper bag at the transom. I can not seem to figure out how to properly install the poles and straps to get the tight support you're describing. It came with two poles, one short and one tall. I put the shorter pole in the bow and the taller one in the rear of the boat. Each pole had a black piece on top of it with three straps attached to it, two shorter straps and one long one with two shorter white straps attached to the end of the long black one. The way I have it installed now is using only one of the included strap sets. I took the black piece off the top of one pole and connected the two poles with the other strap going over the windshield. Then I tied the remaining black straps and white straps to cleets and grab bars in the boat. Does this seem right? Horrible explination I know, would help to have pictures but I'm not about to remove the cover unless I'm sure I have a better fix.

              Factory Cover

Sounds like I have the exact same cover, I just bought a 2008 SANT 230 and it has the poles too. I may never use them but please let me know if you figure them out,
