    226 versus 220

I am looking to buy a used 226, probably year model 2006 to 2009. My preference is the 226, because I grew up pre-wakeboarding and still like to ski occasionally as do some of the other old timers that go out with. However, the boat would primarily be for pulling kids on boards, tubes, etc. I also like the seating configuration and walk-through transom on the 226.

There are a lot more used 220s out there than 226s. I am starting the think I need to consider the 220s more seriously to broaden the number of options I have. For the casual skiing described above, am I going to be OK with the 220? In other words, how big a difference is the wake size on the 220 v 226 at 30 mph?

Any other differences that would make one of these boats a better choice than the other?

    Any input would be appreciated.

Both boats are designed for wakeboarding. The wake is very large for skiing. Make sure you do a water test and ski behind them before you buy. I would have bought a 230 if it wasn't for skiing. The 210 does all sports, the ski wake is very good at 32 mph with no balast and 3 peeps.

          Hi Gasman

          Hi, GASMAN! What’s up?
Yea I just bought a 230 and must sell the 226. Wife wants to keep both but that’s out of the question. Here is a YouTube link of the surf wake with only 2 people in the boat. Someone said they were going to drive up today from Jackson, MS to buy the boat but have not heard from him today.

            RE: Hi Gasman

I've got a 220 TE and ski behind the boat too. I preferred the closed layout to the 226, but each there own. You can't go wrong with either. I'd go for the better deal.
