    SV 211 Replacement Carpet

If you need to replace the crappy original carpet in your SV211, contact Nick at Corinthian Marine (866-785-6507, ext. 500).

These guys are extremely good to work with and will make sure you are satisfied. Trust me, there are complications to the sizing and snap layouts on these carpets. Go with someone who has figured it out (I was the test pilot and we got it right). Here are some pictures to show what I ended up with.

I am waiting on snaps and warmer weather. Color R6762 Silver Carbon. I purchased snaps from West Marine and they were junk as was the snap tool. I deal with carpet all the time so I do not think it will be hard.

My co-worker still needs his carpet for his 211. If he sends you his will you dupicate the snaps? Knowing him as i do, he would get the carpet and not install it because of them. Or get me to do it, and I have enough on my plate boatwise at the moment. If so, how much additional?

              thanks

                WakeSlayer,

We can install the snaps but it is highly NOT recommended. As several of these guys on here can testify too, if the snaps are just the slightest bit off, the carpet will not fit at all. Not every 211 has the snaps in the exact same area. Even just the slightest variance can make the carpet buckle and cause a HUGE headache. As much as you have on your plate boatwise right now, I would definitely recommend helping your buddy install those snaps with the carpet in the boat. We have a loaner tool available for free, that can make the job a little less stressful. Feel free to give me a call or e-mail if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Ok I installed the snaps today. Took about three hours and was not to bad. Only had to re-do a few areas.

If you are going to do it here is what I would recommend.

1 Get the professional snap tool. I tried it with the tool from West Marine and the West Marine was a waste of time and money.

2 Order the snaps from Corinthian they were much better than other snaps I found.

3 I found the best way to set up was to lay the piece in place and alien the best you can. Remember that these pieces will be different than the last ones. The difference is small but enough to mess you up. I do not think it would be possible to have the snaps attached at the factory. There are too many variables. Being of less than an 1/8th of an inch will cause a pucker. Make sure that there is enough carpet in all areas so you will not have to put a snap in the binding. It would be easy to do.

4 Once it was in place and about where I thought it should be I would feel for the first snap with my the tips of my thumbs. Once found I would push an all through the carpet and make sure it was the center of the snap. Then I would pull the carpet back and use a Sharpie to mark the location. Then I would remove the all and attach the snap. I fould it was good to go to the other end of the peice and attach a sanp in that location. Then work around so all the carpet was smooth.

                        Other tips

Warm the carpet before you install. Warm carpet is easier to work with.

Order 15 more snaps than you need. I would also ask Corinthian to send you a small scrap of the carpet to try a snap before you start.

If you mess up on placement of a snap and you have a pucker you do not want, you can drill the inside of the snap off and take it out. One caution do not let the snap get hot. If it does you could have a snap melted in your carpet. If any one has any other question let me know.

I am still on the list to do carpet in my 211, just need to get a few xmas bills paid off... I am thinking of doing dark blue with black binding to match my dark blue accents and black piping. Comments?

Dark blue carpet is going to get a little warmer than the grey.

Get a sample of the Graphite color. Put a dark blue binding and it would look great.
