    Air Nautique Draft

Does the Air Nautique V-Drive draft the most water when at rest? All other variables such as total load being the same or can it draft more under power, if so is any data published with known variations due to speed?
I have debated this with friends for quite some time. If you have any links to published information and/or data please post it here. I know everyone has an opinion but for the sake of discussing the facts and not starting another ongoing endless debate, please limit responses to known data not personal opinions or hearsay. Thanks!

    More Draft???

This may draft more - but I think you are looking for info on just Nautiques? Would that be a comparison of v-drive to DD??

Nimitz class aircraft carrier has a draft of 37-41ft. It has four propellers each 25ft. in diameter and weighing in at 30 tons. I bet it cant do a power turn.

since AuMDLST started it. . .

I don't think either drafts, cans or bottles. I guess maybe one of those small kegerators, but I've never seen it done Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

I think you would be surprised ! But it takes like 2 miles.

I don't have any documentation or published test reports on SAN draft. Nor Miller, Michelob, or otherwise.

However. my SAN drafts more sitting, than unweighted runnning at any significant speed. Heavily weighted surfing it drags really low.

If that is not helpful, I recommend we go back to aircraft carriers and beer.

I'll look for some numbers - I used to have measurements from a 1994 SNOB and a 05 206 TE. I do know the current 210 is more than both previous while sitting as well as all three draft less
            while underway on plane.

The Nimitz is 30 tons. I think you missed a few zeros. The average tractor trailer rig is 30 tons and I think it's only 60" long. It may weigh more full of Draft Miller or Budweiser

                Rick,

I am no expert but I think he said the propellers were 30 Tons

                  Comments to three topics

                  1. I think a vee drive would draft less at any speed....unless there is some contraption or feature on the hull to pull it down. Related to direct drives, see my post here.

                  2. Nimitz displacement is 103,000 tons fully loaded. I believe it can turn sharper than 2 miles.

                  3. No comment. I know nothing about or drink any beer I see TV commercials for. Nothing wrong with advertising....those just aren't good beers.

yes each prop is 30 tons. It has a length of 1,092ft. which is just over the length limit on my lake of 21ft.

almost every boat will draft slightly more before coming to plane when you are starting from a stand still the more gas the more draft you'll see.

What, if their comming back with the draft I hope I end up on that Nimitz because that Nautique it too small and the drinking age should be changed to 18. No matter how many first class seamen are drafted on board there are too many factors to compare drafts without more parameters on your arguement. On either boat, put all the weight in the back and run slow you will probably draw more water due to the angle of the boat.

At the houston boat show last week, the Epic salesman told me their hull is designed to pull down with speed.
