    Bummed

I'm getting a bit bummed living in Pittsburgh. They annouced the Pittsburgh Boat Show and I didn't see a Nautique dealer on the list. I was hoping there would be a full force N assault on the market being there was 1 08 in the 09 snow last year. I'd love to see factory people, open and closed 200's, the new 226, 230, 210 and just a grand display. Looks like I need to schedule a trip somewhere around a boat show.....

There's no representation at the Los Angeles Boat Show either. That show has historically been huge, but it has gotten dramatically smaller over the past couple of years. At one point I heard rumors the show itself was going to be cancelled due to poor participation by the dealers and manufacturers. I'm very disappointed, but I know these shows are expensive to participate at and in this economy, I don't know if there truly is much ROI.

Even back in the mid 90's when I sold MC's, boat shows rarely met our contribution payback. Nothing beat a hot sunny day for sales!

NautiDave07....that too funny. I called them this fall to see if I could do an in water demo of a 211 and they said NO! Pretty stunned by their comment, I called back and told them they could check my accounts to ensure I had money etc...... THEY STILL SAID NO! They didnt seem very interested in selling me a boat!!!

The Portland boat show used to use five buildings for the show, it is down to only two buildings, I understand, and Correct Craft is not listed as one of the exhibitors. It is also down from 9 days to 5 days. My understanding is that the boat show people were charging exhibitors the same price, in spite of losing four days, two of them a weekend.
Considering that participation just increases the overhead a dealer has to pay, and cover in the sale of boats, and puts all the dealers into a competition to lower their prices, it might be a wise business choice.

I feel your pain. We went last year, paid the $20 or whatever to get in just to see a 220 sitting there. The dealer rep was a nice guy but nothing too exciting to look at.

I just don't think there is much of a market in the PGH area...there are only a handful of wakeboats on the river this past summer.

We got an mailing yesterday from Bills Marine, they don't say what if any Nautiques they plan on having at the show. At least there is some hope of seeing Correct Craft at the Pittsburgh Boat Show.
