Did you admit to them that you were the/a previous owner? I hope they now have to disclose that sinking info. That would be pretty snaky to sell it otherwise!

Holy crap. I am glad I am a member here. I was working with this guy to buy this boat.
Are you serious. This boat was sunk for 3 days and Thundermarine has idea.
Now. What would be a good price for this boat? It looks great.

Yes I did tell them that I was the old owner.

The boat was offered to me by insurance company for $7000 and I turned them down. I was selling it for 19,000 before it sunk. I would give them 10,000 for it now if it was me. The boat was in AWESOME shape when I owned not a scrach or a nick ANYWHERE.

The engine looks new, or detailed very well...you can still see the printing on the alternator drive belt and everthing on it looks clean, cleaner than a 7 year old motor should. On the repo item, it was registered in Florida so unless lynspeed had it registered there it's had another owner. And I would have to question whether the hour meter even works after sitting under water.

It may run, but you would have to think there would be gremlins that would appear after some use. Anything electronic would need to have been replaced. ECM, stereo, PP, etc. The motor could well have been fine as long as it was gone through properly. All the carpet and upholstery would also need to have been replaced. This may end up being a great boat for someone, but the price needs to get back down to reality. Now they know this and will have to fight the PO, the insurance co, or fire sale it. Lvnspeed, would your insurance company divulge the course the boat took after they got it?

When I bought the boat it had the FL numbers on it and here in AL if you register something mid season then its the same cost as it you register it at the begining of the year so because it still had a good sticker I was being cheep and didnt register it until the new year (Jan) the boat was sunk in Feb. So I had the new regesteration but did put it on (**** I am lazy or at least I sound like I am )

I doubt they would tell you anything (as far as the insurance company goes) and I really wouldnt know where to start asking...... I have the old regesteration as Proof if someone doesnt believe me I can scan it and post it....

Look I am just trying to save someone some headaches thats all

The big question will be if someone asks about this boat in a week or so. Wonder if they will reveal the history.

buddy of mine bought a nautique that sunk. After getting the gremlins out, the only thing that he has issues with is there appears to be some sort of mold in the cushions that turns the vinyl purple. but an afternoon in the sun takes care of it.

Like I said earlier, I thought it was pretty admirable that you did so, and even moreso, that you called them and followed up. Especially since you took a little heat in the original discussion last Spring.

                    thank you for that.

                        flotation

I though nautiques all had built in flotation and they wouldn't sink. The would just fill with water. Is this not true?
                        Thanks,

Please dont get the argument going again about if they will sink or not I was just trying to save someone the headache of buying a boat that had water completely over the motor cover.

A neighbour of mine bought a sunken X-Star at a huge discount.

It looked in decent condition after it was cleaned up but he's had nothing but endless problems with it, mostly but not all electrical. At least he saved money and knew what he was buying, but it spends more weekends out out of the water than in while he finds and fixes new problems that occur.
