I am in the market for a 2007-2009 Nautique 206. PCM upgraded the Excalibur in 2008 giving it 343hp versus the 330hp previously. Is there a noticable difference between the two motors? Any help would be appreciated.

IMO there is not any difference in the 2. If there is I didnt notice it. -
I did notice a difference in the power curve. I have the 330 in my 07 216 and the 343 in my 08 210 te. I don't feel my 216 is underpowered with the 330, but I can feel the difference in the motor at different points on the RPMs. Also I had the 330 in my 04 211. I can also tell the difference in the 330 in a friends 07 210 compared to mine at whole shot. We both have about the same top end.Comment

I believe the difference will be that you can install Zero Off on the 343 hp engine without modification. If you are not a tournament skier and would be perfectly happy with Perfect Pass SG rather than ZO (this is the case with a great number of people myself included), then it should be a non issue.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.Comment

I would bet that if you put both engines on a dyno that there would be almost no difference or maybe even the same specs. Stickers are much easier to change than actual HP and torque. The horsepower rating change came as a result of PCM incorporating the new eControls ECM into the engine, as well as a modified intake system. The reason for the change was mainly to allow their engines to support Zero Off. I have driven both, and noticed a slight difference in the 343.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Wow you guys are not only fast in responding but you are very enlightening. It sounds like there is a slight difference but not enough to warrant the $5000-6500 difference I am seeing between the used for sale 2007 and 2008 Ski Nautique 206 LE or TE boats. I appreciate your input. Now to find a used boat to buy.Comment
