Good morning guys. I have had a few of you ask me about my cancer benefit, Ice Breaker Wakefest. I have been waiting for our website to be finished before I said anything about it.
First off, you can find all the information you need to know by checking our web site. Icebreakerwakefest.org. it is not 100% done yet, but it is close and should answer any questions you guys have.
Jeigh Krupp and I started this event five years ago as a free ride meet and great for area wakeboarders. The event went pretty well and everyone had fun so we figured we do it the next summer. A few months before our event Jeigh's mother pasted away from cancer and soon after my grandmother also pasted away from cancer. For those of you that have lost someone to cancer knows how hard it is because there is nothing you can do.
We had to do something, so we got with the American Cancer Society and after a couple of meetings The ICE BREAKER "CRUSH THE ICE FOR LIFE" was born. The first two years we ran the event from my house, the third and fourth year we moved to Gene Strattoon Porter, because the event out grew my back yard. Over the last four years we have raised around $10-12,000.
We have now out grown Gene Stratton Porter and with the help of the city we have moved the event to Bixler Lake Campground. A 117 acre lake with 300 acres of campground. We added a CORNHOLE Tournament, A 12 team Softball tournament, and 3.5 mile nature walk.
This year we have teamed up with Adam Wensink (team Nautique/HL rider and Nautique rep) and Dry Dock Marine Center to really make this event big. The Ski/wake part of the event will start at sunrise where we will have the New SKI NAUTIQUE 200, 2010 230, and 2010 210.
Here is a break down of this year’s events
Friday Night May 21
5:00 all night softball tournament begins

This may be subject to change, but give you an idea of the events. I hope this helps. Please check out our website icebreakerwakefest.org or email me zlear@sblear.com with any questions/comments/suggestions. We are looking to raise a lot of money this year!
From Sales Rep to Team Nautique member, Adam Wensink does it all. It makes total sense to officially bring Adam onto the team as he is already promoting Nautique through his job as a Nautique Sale...
