WOW, all this discussion brings me back to my purchase of SAN 04, it was a battle with my salesperson to get the composite, he said it was much more expensive and he was right, but I think the look with my black/grey and white boat looks good. I have had teak before and loved the look but didn't like the maintenance and upkeep. Your all very brave with teak and it the more "traditional" look.

I have had both, I had a Moomba with the Composite and I think the maintenance was much less than the Teak on my Air Nautique.

Interesting topic. Here is my 2 cents (not worth much but since this is the internet I get to state my opinion).

I've had 6 Correct Craft's, 3 teak and 3 composite. I've had no problems with the composite. I just make sure people dont drag metal fins across the deck, btw built in fins or plastic ones dont scratch, just the metal ones. The way I look at it would you let someone drag a fin across your boat? The composite is zero maintenance and looks better with the boat.

My problem with the teak is that after a month or two of use, even a new one is looking a little ragged. Then you have to get out the oil and sandpaper and clean it up. I am very into maintaining my boat but I'm not into spending all my time maintaining a boat.

I prefer Teak. The maintenance is minimal if you stay on top of it and use only the best products. Keep it indoors if your not using it for long periods of time and put a good coat of oil on it before you store it. I like the way teak feels on my feet too for some reason, more real, more natural. Teak for function, composite for show, I chose function even though my dealer was willing to upgrade to the composite for free. I sometimes use the platform as a back bumper when loading things to/from boat to boat. Until they figure out that the rubber should be higher then the fiberglass I will stick with teak. There is no way I would be able to relax having knowing/hearing fins banging on a gelcoat deck.

I've had teak.. to much work and I'm anal about taking care of stuff like this.. My 211 has a composite.. I'll let you know in September if my opinion has changed.. but obviously, we are in the minority here!
