Bad ebay listing from Houston motors

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...#ht_500wt_1182

Says 2006 but I'm about 99% sure thats an 2005 probably not a good place to buy a boat if they don't know anything about it.

I bought my boat from Rich. They are okay guys in general. There were a few things that frustrated / disappointed me...but I am sharp and picky. Not many people impress me.

I will note there is a lot of action in that dealership between the various brands and trades. It would be easy for them to have an error. Just ask for the hull ID.

I wonder if that boat is the one that got stuck in the lift two years ago becuase the lake drained out. Probably not...but looks close (from memory). I was tempted to go rescue it. The owners had a cash reward to get it out of the lift and they were washing/waxing/protecting regularly.

          Not 2006 Graphics - Not 2006 Tower

2006 SANTE does not have pitot tubes

          Most likely it's a 2005

Wow, you guys are pretty harsh. I doubt there was any intent to deceive, mistakes happen. However, you are correct it is not a 2006 SA210.

Is there bad blood going on between you posters and Houston? If not, an email or phone call to notify them of the mistake would have been more appropriate, IMO.

Note to all it is Huston (not Houston) and they are on this site as HustonMotors with only two posts.

No bad blood here. A phone call to Rich would have been good. Likely a clerk in the office or a porter made the error. Certainly no reason to hang them.

I had a good experience there. Talked to Rich many times over the phone before the deal. He had it advertised on eBay. As soon as he got a call from my bank, he didn't even make me put down a deposit. He was also going to let me walk if I didn't like the boat when I got there. I clicked on Friday, had the bank talk with him on Tuesday, and picked it up Friday morning complete with new Ramlin assembled that week. There was only one small item mis-represented and the value is probably about 200 bucks. A value hard to complain about when the boat was so clean and his deal was thousands less than than similar boats for sale across the country.

The biggest rub I had (and not a misrepresentation) was with the new Ramlin trailer. Rich wasn't as familiar with trailer specs as I needed, and I couldn't talk directly to Ramlin. I've since learned (and we've discussed many times) that this is the fault of Ramlin...not so much the dealer. So yeah, I'm still a bit pissed off that I dropped 4000 dollars on a new trailer and didn't get what I wanted. A case of anal stenosis flares up each time I think of it. I am blaming Ramlin though...not so much Huston.

I would buy from Huston again.

Just curious if your Ramlin did not include a hand winch? Mine didn't either which not only surprisd me but even the salesman said he didn't know Ramlin sold trailors without the hand winch.

However, I have been very satisfied with Huston and also would buy from them again.

Never seen a hand winch on a Ramlin - Just the turnbuckle
Drive boat on - hook it and go

It also doesnt have the 06 windshield which was a little bit more swept back on the sides.

My Ramlin has a winch. It is an option NOT standard. Not sure then they started the winch. My 04 ramlin for my 211 had it and I ordered it on my 07. Both also have a turnbuckle.

My Ramlin does have a hand winch plus the catcher's mit and turnbuckle. I use two ramps...one that is very flat and one that is very steep. For both ramps, I don't know how I'd get the boat on w/o a winch. I guess it would be one hand on the throttle while someone latches it.
