The only thing that has changed with the rudder was the vendor, there could be some differences between the two, but no enhancements have been made to it.

thanks guys for all the imput! I'm going to wait until after the "dealer's show" this November to see all the changes if any. I'm not going to change my mind about ordering the 196, I just want to be sure that I'm not missing any options

BI, You can save yourself the 2% price increase that will go into effect on November 15th if you at least place your order before that date. You can then make some changes before your boat is produced. If you are going to want a new 2005 I would make sure your dealer gets a spot in production for you ASAP. Hope this helps and Good Luck.
