    Tonneau (bow rider) Cover purpose?

I think I loaded my new 200 up with almost every option. Been awhile since I owned a bow rider.
What is the main reason I would want a tonneau cover? It says in the options they do not come
installed. Are they held on with metal snaps?
If there seems to be a good reason I would consider one.

The purpose? To cover up that big hole in the front of course

Mine is still in the box, I didn't take it out and look at it yet, not sure of how it installs. My boat is at the boat show I will see what I can find out about it for you on mounting tonight.

That would be great to know thanks.
But I can't see a reason i would want to block off the hole. Maybe if i was at the very end of the lake and it looked like rain to keep it dryer
thats all i can think of. My boat sits on a lift under a canopy and also has a full cover. If you had a cover that just snaped on the windshild to the back
like some boats it would make more sense. So far Im leaving out that option.

We use the bow cover on our 2000 Air DD whenever the weather is a little chilly, to minimize the cold wind blowing through. Of course, we only need to do this in early spring or late fall, and it is obviously not needed of you have some other kind of air dam at the passage below the windshield.

Same here. Use it on cold days, and the kids think it's cool to climb around under it. Also, if I get caught trailering in the rain, I will put it on to try and keep the boat a little cleaner.

Bow cover will also keep help if you are out when it is not skiing conditions. Keeps the chop from splashing in. I used to have a mc 197 and it was useful for that.

Does your boat have a heater? If not you do not need it. It is used to close off the air flow when a heater is running.....

You can tell who lives in the north and who lives in the south on this one. Up here in Canada, if you don't have a bow cover, you're frozen all of but 2 months of the year.

Hey RyanNoble, I think I must agree with you. It is really cold in that place.

I got the bow stop instead of the bow cover. The bow stop blocks about 95% of the wind. That plus the heater was enough for me, but agree that in super cold conditions, the bow cover would work a little better.

I would get the bow cover. It was only an extra $150 for me (for a nice sunbrella snap-on), and after 5 years, the bow of my boat still loooked like new. I always leave it on when not being used.

I'd opt for the permanent fiberglass bow cover.

But seriously, every one I have ever seen snaps on. In my old open bow, I opted for a sunbrella walk through wind block. My local upholstery shop worked one up for me for about $60. You can see pictures of ScarlettArrow's 200 with the bow cover in this link.

Not only are the full covers good for keeping cold air out of the cockpit, you also don't have to worry about wiping down the seats in the bow at the end of the day.

Going from an open bow to a closed bow really cut down on the clean up time for me. Everything in the world used to get stuck between those bow cushions. I don't miss it.

I live in TX and use my bow tonneau in the winter and when raining. In my opinion its function:cost ratio makes it a no brainer option. I at one point thought that a heater was pointless in TX also...I wont buy another boat without one...

A bow cover is a must have! I've been in 3-5 foot swells on Lake Powell when a sudden storm came up and if I had not had 1 on water would have been coming over the bow of the boat.. It aslo keeps the front area clean from road grime when towing.
