    vaccu-hold cover

I was wondering if anyone has got a vaccu-hold cover from commecial sewing from their local dealer for a 2008 210. If so which dealer it is. I contacted my dealer about it and they never heard of it more less. Im still waiting for a call back so figured I would ask you good people here.

    Cover

That’s the cover that came with my 2008 230, great towing cover; fits like a glove. Cover is held on with rear ratchets. I have no idea what it would cost, high dollar cover I would imagine. My 230 was a Correct Craft demo/show boat and had the cover when the dealer got it. Huston Motors Lake Wales may be able to help you. Ask for Rick Kramer.

      "Nautique" Cover by Commercial Sewing

I am currently purchasing a 2008 SN206 and had done some research on covers. The Nautique cover by Commercial Sewing for the SN206 with tower costs retail $1195.00. N3 Boatworks offers PN members 10% off which saves some $$$. I have seen the covers and they are truly works of art; however I have not towed a boat with one but if you look at the Commercial Sewing website they have some videos of boats going down the road with their covers.

Does anyone know if Commercial offers side skirts and platform covers as options? We have a problem with geese leaving their breakfast on our platform when it's left in the water so something that slopes down from the transom seems like it'd be the ticket. I'd also like to protect the platform and sides from sun damage since our boat sits in the water Apr - Oct.

The vaccu-hold cover from commecial sewing is the factory cover from Nautique. They will only make it in black and don't ask for any modifications. My suggestion is if the black color isn't a problem (see thread on black cover), then get a local company to add a skirt and separate platform cover that attaches to it. It could be done rather easily. The factory cover is high quality, but like the Model T, it only comes one way.

I have on on my 08 210 its a great fit I am very pleased. It came from Dockside Marine Wilmington IL. 815-476-7802
ask for Terry. I took the ratchets off and added 5 straps to hold it on when towing. I had it blow off bucking a 40mph head wind at 65 mph With the straps its much more secure.

No I dont tow it with the HHR.

Humm. Their big selling point is that as you drive the venturi sucks it down tight better than straps. What you're saying kinda defeats the whole purpose of vaccu-hold if the vaccu won't hold. (nice looking boat btw!)

I think the vacuhold system is to prevent movement while traveling. I think the shape of the 210s transom makes it hard to get it tight enough to stay on during extreme conditions [40+65 = 105 mph wind] It only came off once it was a 135 mile trip and no problem with the wind coming back. For me that's once too much so we added the straps. I have read that the covers scratch the hull when towing because of movement by the wind . I have not had any problems like that I am very happy with it I would buy it again.
