I have an 2004 sv211 and have the valves that you have to open and close to fill the ballast tanks. What is the easiest/cheapest way to bypass the valve system. I break one of teh control handles every year opening and closing those things and I cant take it anymore. Anyone have any ideas?

This is one of the hottest topics ever to be discussed on this forum.
Best solutions are either electric valves or impeller pumps to replace the fill pumps/valves. I have the impeller pumps and no more valves except the emergency shut off valves which are never used.

there are also several other threads, one of them has my writeup for the impeller replacement. do some searches, you will find tons of information.

Hey lakejoe, I am just in the process of going and picking up my 04" SV-211 as soon as the snow melts off the roads. Bought it this last fall and the person said he would store it for me in his barn for the winter. Just wondering if you could send me some pics of your ballast system setup. I have been putting together a Jabsco ballast system with bags. I have been doing a lot of research but have not communicated with anyone that has pretty much the same boat I have. Thanks and good luch with your valve problem.

I havent done anything outside of the stock ballast system except get the original valves replaced under the factory recall. It works ok but the valves just seem unnecessary and the cables keep hanging up. Happy to help if you need any info.
Congrats on your purchase, I have put about 400 hours on my 211 and have loved this boat. I have had two MCs prior to this and this boat blows them away!

I had a 2003 226 with the helm valves and purchased the electric valves to replace them and bought my 2008 230 before I ever installed they. Have the up for sale but no offers yet.
Make me an offer. I have 3, paid over $140.00 each,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, they replace the cable opertated valves and simply wire in parrallel to the fill valves. Will filling they open. A friend has the new valves in his boat and they seem to work fine, and eleimate the need for the helm control valve.
