    New 2008 210!...have questions.

So, I am pretty stoked today considering I just committed to buy a brand new 2008 Super Air Nautique 210 and will be picking it up Saturday!!! I have a couple questions below if anyone can help me out. Thanks a lot and I will get pics up of it later.

    1. The boat supposedly comes with a "Power Prop." Are there different options of props on these boats? I am going to eventually be running a lot of ballast in the boat. What is the best prop for running 2500+ lbs of ballast?

    2. What is the proper break in for these boats? I'm sure the dealer will help me out with this, but figured I would see what others are doing.

    3. Has anyone installed the fly high additional ballast package? If so, does the front bow sac fill up all the way? Also, I see the kit is $600, but I can buy just the sacks for around $450. I can't imagine the hoses and quick connects will cost me another $150. Should I just get the sacs individually and buy the fittings myself?

    4. Unfortunately the boat has the ugly (imo) super air graphics on it that look like a tornado type thing with the blue in it. I am going to switch them out to either just the chromax "SUPER AIR NAUTIQUE" graphic for a clean look or may ad the wing decals as well. How hard are these to put on yourself? Also, can I add the chromax lettering first and then add the wing decals later if I decide I want them? Or do I have to put the wing decals on first before I put on the chromax lettering?

Any other comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I don't think I will sleep the next couple of nights just thinking about it:-)

    An answer maybe

I know the feeling of not sleeping, we bought our 236 about three weeks ago it's sitting halfway across the country waiting for me but it just keeps snowing,**** global warming. Our boat also came with some awful graphics as well so our deal included the crest graphic.I was told by Larry at Correct craft that the decals are not very hard to install. He is supposed to send me a cd rom with directions. If I can get my hands on it I will post it.Going by the directions he gave me at the factory you would have to put on the crest first. It wraps around the letters so if the letters are not in the right place the crest might not come out in the right spot on the windshield. If you are looking for new graphics Check out WHITE LAKE MARINE.The link is at the top of the page and they have great prices on the crest graphic and others.I have the exact same questions as you regarding a 230 instead of a 210 on the other topics you asked about so I am curious to hear the answers.not to hijack the post but how do you identify a power prop from a regular prop?Just by the size and pitch?

Do you know if the prices that are given for those decals per side or are those sold in pairs? I was thinking those prices are PER SIDE which would mean you would have to double the cost if you are buying them for both sides of the boat. Correct me if I am wrong.

        Jan and JWat,
I have the 236 and it came with a crossover stlye prop not the power prop. If it has the true power prop most guys run on these it is the Acme 1235. They call it the stump puller. My 236 zr6 with about 2500-3k ballast is a dog with the stock prop unless you put the right amount up front. I am gonna get a 1235. If rotation is the same direct LH as the 236 the 1235 would prob be the prop of choice. Also sorry for not responding to the pm,s from you guys I had not set myself up to get notice sent to email and was unaware they were there. Also Jan I posted a reply to your thread on blisters It may help you maybe not.

I'm not sure about boat graphics but I put a wrap graphics kit on my snowmobile and it wasnt that bad. I sprayed water on and then applied the decal this allows you to slide around the graphic to adjust it to where you want it. Once you have it where you want it you squegee the water out and apply it with heat. Not too bad. I would also say that you should put the wing decal down first before the chromax.

            HI Guys,
Jwat the price is about $550 and that is for 6 pieces which is enough for both side three for each, but the chromax or regular letters are not included in that price.Great info on the prop Dave, mine is supposed to have the power prop on it I will double check when I pick it up.Also sent you a PM Dave, thanks for everything. Larry at CC also told me to use the water to apply the decals the same way verhagmr described and I would have no problems.

Is anyone good at photoshop? Here is the boat I'm getting. I photoshopped off the original decal, but that's about all my photoshop skills can do. I'm trying to figure out what kind of decal would look best and trying to figure out how to break up some of the white on the top deck with more black. Was thinking of maybe having the vent covers painted black or adding a black pinstripe to the top deck??? Any other suggestions?

                1. Power Prop is indeed a different prop for the 210 and 230. When running 2k5lbs it's the correct prop.
                2. Just listen to your dealer on this one. Do it their way for warranty reasons, but personnally I would always apply a 10hours minimum break in.
                3. No clue about this one.
                4. You have to apply the Wing or Crest graphics first before the Chromax. Other wise the graphics will be on the wrong place on the boats. It is do-able yourself, but be with 2 persons with alot of free time. The complete Crest decals took us about 6hours with 2 persons.

Good luck, great boat (but that was already the case with your "old" boat).

JWAT, I believe the power prop that comes on the Nautiques is an Acme 1579, also an Acme 1465 is the same prop just different part# (13.50 dia X 14.25 pitch .105 cup). http://acmemarine.com/prop-list_ski-boat.php I have and Acme 1465 on my 08 210. I bought the 1465 for my 2007 210 and just kept the prop when I traded for my 08. In 2007 they didn't offer the power prop and I bought my 08 at the boat show , it didn't have a power prop on it. Running a power prop is a must if you are going to run extra weight in the boat and have the EX343 engine. If you want the best solution for your set up I would contact Bill at Acme. He is an engineer there and can let you know which prop willl best fit your needs. I wanted even a little more bottom end out of my boat and had acme rework my 1465 after I had it for a year. They took out some more of the cup, so now I believe it is around .080 cup. The prop is great now.

I also am running the fly high ballsat system. When I installed my system I bought my bags and then the fittings. I found the sacs at a dealer that was going under and got them for a great price. You won't need to purchase any hose to install the system. You can use the factory hose and will have some left over. I reccomend using the 750lb sacs in the rear. I just switched mine out from the 400lb sacs this winter. The 400lb sacs will not fill the rear locker completely. The 400lb sacs are great if you are going to have 5 or so people in the boat but I found that I wanted just a little more ballast for when I had only 2 people in the boat, which is a lot of the time for me. As for the front sac that installs under the front seats it does not fill all the way up, there just isn't enough room for it. I use the sac and have 3 50lb plates that I set on the floor underneath my bow filler cushion. If you purchase the round 50lb weights that are used for the smaller weight bar (not the 45lb weights that are in most gyms) they will fit perfect on the floor in the nose where the seats curve around. I have mine rhino lined so they won't rust. Also I only need them when we only have 2 or 3 of us out. I hope this helps and congrats on your purchase! BTW that is the same trailer set up I have.

When looking at your prop you should have either a 1579 or 1615. The 1235 will not work on the new 210's. This is coming from Bill at Acme. If you are getting the 1615 then thats it right now as far as the best prop for running weight in the 210. I am hoping to have a 1615 soon to swtich out my 1579.

                      Highrock,

It's hard to tell in your profile pic, but do you have a titan tower with and under the tower bimini? If so, can you post a bigger picture of it? Do you have a pic of it folded up? Also, can you rotate the board racks inside the boat with boards on them while the bimini is open? Thanks a lot!

I just finalized everything today on the boat and was measuring the back compartments for sacs. How in the world did you fit 750's back there? I'm assuming you took out the hard tanks because if you leave those in, there was barely enough room for the 400 lb. v-drive sacs. Do you know the exact weight of the stock tanks on a 2008 210? Thanks!

                          JWAT,

I dont have a bimini on my boat at this time. I have a custom made frame for an over the tower bimini that we made last summer but have not taken it to the upholstery shop to get the canves on yet. I dont have and pictures of the tower folded, but here as some pictures of the boat. I wouldnt think you could spin the racks with an under tower bimini, although I would prefer it for better shade.

The staff at ACME suggested using the 1235 on our 2008 super air 2010, we did and it works great 500 rpm lower, hole shot was great. Standard ballast plus additional 2500 lbs.
