    2002 Air Nautique?

Is anyone familiar with the 2002 Air Nautique? My 16 year old is into wake boarding and my 18 year old likes to slalom; so I'm looking for a boat that meets both needs. I am guessing that the boat is geared toward wakeboarding, but I'd like to know what the slalom wake is like. We currently own a 92 Nautique open bow. Thanks.

I have a buddy who has a 2002 SAN TE, I haven't slalomed behind it but I know that his wife does. She's not that aggressiveof a skier so the wake doesn't mean a whole lot to her but to a half decient slalom skier, that wake is monsterous! If you are interested in a V drive I would look at the 211 crossover model and have your son run 22' off, the wake isn't too bad. If you dont think you need a V drive I would look at a 206 or 216 with a tower.

I have a 2000 Air Direct Drive. I would actually say it is more geared to skiing than wakeboarding. With no weight/ballast, I bet the ski wake is better than your 92 (assuming it is a Sport and not a Ski). It takes a lot of weight to make a respectable wakeboarding wake, we have 1400+lbs in ours and only board. The factory ballast is negligable in my opinion. Mine did not come w/ factory ballast and the first time I took it out we stuck a 540lb sac in the trunk. I was dissapointed, still a fairly flat wake. Our trunk is now filled with sacks and I am pretty happy.
