    Sunstream Floatlift question

I live on the shallow end of the lake and want to do the following; Load a 99 Super Sport onto a sunstream floatlift in 6 feet of water. Raise the lift halfway and drive the lift to my dock (which has about 2 feet of water) using the boat prop and rudder, then completely raise the lift.

I've also thought about completely raising the boat onto the lift in deep water, then using a trolling motor (attached to the floatlift) to troll to my dock.

Has anybody ever done something like this?

    Thanks

I am a little confused how that would work, but I am also not familiar with that type of lift. Anytime we go to move a lift such as a shorestation or that type of lift we get some truck tire innertubes and place them under the lift then inflate them. It floats the lift enough to make it easy to move. You could get the innertubes for free probably at a tire dealer that deals with big trucks. They free innertubes may have a pin hole in them but you could patch them or use them as is depending on how long the lift needs to float. When you are done moving the lift just cut the tubes with a razor knife and resink the lift.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of doing this every time we want to go boating, not once or twice a season. The floatlift is a free floating lift, you can tie it to a dock or moor it just like a boat. Basically, I want to use it to ferry the boat 300' from deep water to my shallow water dock. This would greatly improve accessiblity to the boat since my other option is to moor the boat 300' away from the dock.

Sunstream says you can drive the lift with your boat with the lift in the half-way postion. I wanted to know if anybody has actually done this before I invest in the lift.
