    Open Bow Ski Nautique 196?

Hi. I used to own a 1997 Ski Nautique and I know they made the SNOB (Ski Nautique Open Bow) version as well. I'm in the market to buy an early 2000's open bow Ski Nautique 196 but can not find any info on an open bow model. Did they make an open bow 196? I see things like SE, LE and TE but can't seem to find much info on what these designations mean. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark, I responded to your post on another forum as well.

There was a SNOB in 2000. However, there is not a reference to the SNOB in the 2001 brochure. It shows up again in the 2002 brochure. Around 2003 IIRC, they introduced the 206 as the open bow counterpart to the 196. The 206 was produced until 2009 I believe.

There is also the Sport Nautique, produced through about 2002.

I could be off on my years a bit.

Thanks, tx. I still kick myself for selling that '97 I had. But it was a closed bow and with a newborn it just wasn't getting much use. Now we're looking for another good slalom boat. It's amazing how difficult it is to find a boat that hasn't been turned into a wake boarding rig. Everything has a giant tower and fat sacks! What happened to good 'ol slalom skiing? LOL!

It's too hard to slalom ski, even harder to get good at it. If it was easy to do, more people of the younger generation would do it. Plus, they don't do it at the X games.

A 70 mph slingshot across a wake is considered "extreme" enough I guess!

Where are you located? My boat's twin is for sale at Buxton in Dallas right now.

We weren't using our bow seating and with two boys now, I'm leery of it. Closed bow suits us just fine. Our family's is undoubtedly the minority view though.
