A while back, I inquired about Progressive insurance. Rates were competitive, but they wanted personal information on everyone who would drive my boat. The insurance company did not seem to understand I bought a ski boat so I could ski behind it

I use Safeco for auto, home, etc. They wouldnt give me a special deal on the boat givin i had other things insured through them. I use BoatUS for my boat, safeco was about $100 more per year and i rarely make claims so i went with Boatus. I think you can get instant quotes at http://www.BoatUS.com, or maybe after 1 or 2 days they send you the rate via email. I would think Boatus understands boat insurance better than any of the all purpose underwriters. I have never heard a story of someone dissapointed with it. I would give you my rate but my online banking is down for an upgrade until the 21st so i can't easily find what i have paid.

Progressive told me other drivers have to be on file if the drive 12 or more times per year. Seems kind of fishy. I guess when I actually move into the ski neighborhood I'll need to log in my best neighbors and visitors.

My renewal is in July....I think I'll start looking around.
