'05 Winter Projects

Anyone started or have ideas for their Winter projects this year so far? We haven't finalized everything but are considereing putting little blue neon lights along the tower and under the rubrail where the snaps to a cover would be. And we even got it approved by the cops already. Just needs to be finalized. And just considered today adding airhorn(s) to the tower, b/c frankly I think the factory horn is kind of lame... :lol:, I was a little embarrassed when a guy at a marina "out-horned" me with his little hand air horn...

Just curious, why would you have to have lights approved? As long as you have the required there shouldn't be a problem with extra lights. Air horns are awesome but placement is key, if you can keep them out of sight do it.

We thought there would be a slight conflict since we have a blue and white and black boat with a blue tower and if we had that blue tower with blue lights on it, could have the slightest chance of being a cop to some stupid guy. But the cop said it is in the "gray" zone and it is probably okay since they won't be flashing, and if we got pulled over we could prob. talk our way out of it. And even he said if it was his boat he would do it. There are a lotta strict cops out on our lake late b/c of a bar on it.

Why can't the air horns be seen? I figure if you can have one of the handheld ones why can't you have perminant ones being shown?

Hey have you seen the rubrail that used fiber optic. Do a search fo it Looks way cool.

As far a winter porjects The Carbon Fiber Shop is open for business.

Im making some stuff right now. (Top Secret) LOL. but lets just say when Im done there will be no painted plastic in my boat. All carbon fiber, LOL

I took your tip on the lighted cup holders Im on that. Im looking to make the cup uolder out of CF and some other stuff

Yes, the lights in the cupholders do look awesome and really cool even if they aren't on! Just show them to people and tell them what they are in the day and it still gets ooos and ahhs. You just now have to always keep a couple emergency watter bottles in your boat.

I am like Grant in that I don't want to give away my plans yet.
I have a couple of fairly big projects planned for this winter.
I'll post them as they get done (and they WILL get done).

I did a fiberglass speaker box last year that has worked out VERY well (Should be on the wakeboarding video out by DownSideUp productions this month - Nov). I'm writing an article that will be posted on Wakeboardatlanta probably by December.

I did have SOOOOO much fun playing with fiberglass, I think I'm going to build my sub box out of fiberglass. This winter (will be similar design as others have done under a seat... just out of fiberglass).

I have also thought about adding an anchor light to my tower... for convenience and visibility.
