Fresh Air Exhaust

Does anyone have any pictures of their FAE installed on a newer Nautique with the Hydrogate? Do you think it was a good upgrade? Worth $4-500?

Id like to see how its attached and how far out behind the boat it actually is because I have to take the platform off for storage.

I recall numerous prior posts with photographs. I think the point is that if the information exists then memebrs need not repeat information, and repost their project photos, when that info is already posted.

This forum has been very helpful and most show appreciation for members experience and insight. Use the search function as suggested and it will pay off.

I did look through the forums. There are only a few pictures of Nautiques with the hydrogate with FAE. No one has ever answered the question about the length it sticks out, and in one post it has been asked by Latonkaboarder.

I did not mean to offend anyone with my post, its just that these forums are supposed to be helpful and many of the times each specific thread is different along with the questions.

OK my bad. I just searched for it myself and got nothing in the results. Apparently the search function is not pulling from the old forums? Not sure why. This is slightly annoying since I have posted tons of details about my install on my 211 with hydrogate probably 10+ times. So now I need to log off of this computer and boot up my other computer that has the pictures so I can post it for the 11th time. Good thing the kids are sleeping and the wife is watching american idol which is a complete waste of time.

The FAE is one of the best additions I have made to my boat. It took a little bit of work to get it installed but it was worth it. I think it looks kind of funky but I actually get compliments often from people checking it out at the launch ramp.

Benefits - quiet nearly silent motor, no fumes when surfing, makes the stereo easier to hear
Downsides - slight loss of power/top speed, boat sounds kind of like in I/O

I just did a search here for "fresh air exhaust" and got 43 results, going as far back as 2006. I then pulled up the old site (which I can still access), and did the same search. It only came up with 34 results. Several of the 43 results from this site include posts from Mikeski, including some of the same pictures he posted in this thread.

Now that is funny. The hose clamps in Mikeskis' pics are reversed from the way the instructions tell you to put them on. I put them on the "right" way and the thing would not stay on. I had to reverse them like those in Mikeskis' pics to get the thing to stay on. Since I reversed them, the thing has stayed perfectly tight.

Back on topic...does the FAE affect the shape of the wake at all? You would think it would have the same affect as dropping the hydrogate down since it sticks down in the water like that???

on some of the other posts, people made reference to having to unscrew the mounting brackets for the swim platform braces. Is this only if you have the bracket close to the middle of the platform? I have a 2002 super sport whcih only has the brackets closer tot he outside of the swim platform. Can someone clarify this for me?

No worries. I was just doing searches for 2007 and newer 210's and I noticed after a certain date, the pictures wouldn't show up (not sure what date). Thanks for the info.

I did a new prop and FAE at the same time. The slalom wake was destroyed, turned out it was the prop, I don't notice much wake difference from the FAE.
