That idea is good enough for the maker of all the "M" boats out there, but it was not good enough for Correct Craft. But maybe it is good enough for Nautiques.

Correct Craft me if I am wrong but hasn't the new 200 already set new records? I don't slalom ski anymore but if I did that would be my boat of choice.

Personally think the Correct Craft name is important and would be disappointed if it was to ever go away on the current line-up, hopefully that never happens.

As far as older being better, perhaps simpler is simpler but can you really argue it is better? My 05' SN runs stronger, uses less fuel, preforms substantially better both wake and handling wise, has more interior space, is more comfortable in chop, requires less maintenance, etc. etc. then any of the older SN's I have owned. Another example of this is Fuel Injection, perhaps more complicated but head and shoulders above the carburetor in efficiency and dependability.

To each his own, I would be happy if the only boat I had was any of the CC Boats I have owned but clearly my current model is my favorite for so many reasons.

          yes! OF lives another day.

Correct Craft obviously can't satisfy us because pretty much everyone has a different opinion on how they like to mix new technology with classic traditions. Finding the right balance is tough, and probably impossible. I'm pretty happy to see that people care about this unofficial name change though, regardless of our differences. We clearly care more about this than any other company's boat owners would. That's pretty cool. So yeah, I will shamelessly that we are the coolest, most loyal, most knowledgeable, best driving, best looking, and overall best boat owners on the water.

The ONE thing I wish was still available: Rope Rubrail. I don't care if the boat has so much technology it can drive itself and choose songs I like--if its rubrail is made of rope and not retarded metal, the boat has class. On that note, please don't get rid of the teak platforms.

I disagree. While the rope rubrail looks fine when period-correct (78-89), all of the classic CC's had aluminum rub rails. I think the new ones are a throwback to the days of old... one of the few details I actually like on the newer boats.

I too, think its a shame that the Correct Craft name is being all but dropped in the marketing and branding of these boats. Some of my favorite Correct Crafts are not Nautiques at all.

I don't believe a world record was set behind the 200, but a Moomba Masters record (please correct me if I'm wrong). Still an impressive debut.

I believe you are correct on that. I didn't state world records were set just records, but as you said still an impressive debut.

-1 on the rubber and rope rub rail. While I do think it "works" much better than retarded metal, surely it isn't as classy.

so yeah i stand corrected on the rope rub rail. I was only thinking of the first 2001's when I said that and forgot about the earlier models. But still, although the older ski nautiques have steel rubrails, I don't think you can beat the look of the rope, but that's just my opinion. Unlike most things on these boats, they look good and are practical.

I don't know where to find this, but I think in the '04 brochure there was a sport 216 with black hull, white secondary, and wineberry primary. This burgendy color looked so cool as it matched perfectly with the teak, and I think its the "classiest looking" modern nautique cc still has made to this day.

                          Long Live Correct Craft

I would be really saddend if they dropped the name. I have an 86 and keep wanting to upgrade. But I haven't been able to justify the money even for a used one. Mine has been paid for, for longer than I can remember and replacing almost seems unloyal to it for all the great years that I have had with it. It is part of my family. My kids learned to ski on it at 2.5 years old. Changing the name and dropping correct craft just dosen't seem right and in line with the mission statement. I would be surprised if they really did it.

I do not like the steel/aluminum rub rails. Not functional enough for me.

The less electronic crap in the boat the better. I use my boat alot and the last thing I want to do is fix it because some chinese resistor went bad in the computer.

Give me a bare hull and I will put my own stuff in it.

My 78 martinique has the Aluminum rub rail. I like the look, but it's definitely not practical. Then again , my particular boat was a SN with everything that could be added to it from the factory. It was aimed at pleasing the pickiest of high dollar customers, not necessarily the people that would use the boat the most

I agree about the prices of new ski boats. It's really out of hand. Give me a solid reliable but powerful motor, with a decent stereo that I can add to if I feel, a tower, and a simple ballast system with a basic perfect pass, or even a normal std cruise control, that can seat 8-10 people that doesn't cost what 2 nice cars does and I'll be happy.

I also want a good usable warranty, one that the company stands behind. I've heard some bad stories recently, that makes me wonder if the warranty is something they actually will stand behind, and not find excuses to not allow the issues to be covered. Granted I've seen most of these stories on the forums, but they sound credible enough to believe.
