the new guy - buying first boat

Have decided to purchase a boat and would appreciate any suggestions and advise. I live in Denver, CO and have access to a couple public lakes, however will probably do most boating at Lake McConaughy, NE and maybe Glendo, WY (other suggestions close by welcomed). The family will learn skiing, wakeboarding (have a 6 and 3 year old boys), cruising is secondary and no fishing. Probably buying used with a budget of <=$20K. Thanks.

I don't think a used SAN of that vintage is less than or equal to $20k. For $20k you might be able to get a mid-90's Super Sport or a late 90's Sport/Air. Unless you don't need a trailer. If you don't need a trailer, you can probably find a 2000-01 SAN for $20-$21K. I am not including saltwater boats or boats that have excessive vinyl damage or other damage.
