I've been using SS for about 12 years. Never had a claim, but know people that have and the process has been very smooth.

Personally I think they have great rates, I have found a couple 10-15 cheaper, but I know SS will back their policy....

I attempted to use them a couple years ago. They would not allow me to insure my SAN for a stated value, and refused to insure anything more than liability on our Mustang. They wanted to insure my SAN for something silly like $21k including the trailer. I feel I am stuck paying State Farm's inflated premiums, but I do know I will be well taken care of in the event of a claim. I can't wait to see what they want for my SN next year.... I may have to fib a bit on the HP, they really do not like the rating on the Python.

Hmm. They would have no part of it with me. Could be cause it's a 99, and the skewed nada listings, but I am not replacing for boat for anywhere near what they would insure me for.

Keep in mind that every state has different insurance tariffs. This might preclude an insurance company from offering things like stated value policies, certain deductibes, etc in a given state.

I'm currently with BoatUS. Just got a quote from SS (through the banner). They are very comparable, only a few $ difference with what I currently pay. I don't have all the details of my current policy (deductible, property/medical liability limits, etc.) in front of me so I'm not sure I was comparing apples to apples. But at first glance, they are competitive. I already paid my policy for this year but will definitely revisit them next year for a quote before renewing.

I would be interested in what the wind damage/hurricane coverage is and what terms there are in their policy regarding storage in a rented boat barn.

I don't remember the details on my progressive policy...but I remember they aren't too good. My renewal is coming up.
