How is my electrical system grounded?

I haven't spent much time trying to figure this out on my own yet, but thought I would ask first. How is the electrical system (dash components) grounded? I am having some intermittent problems that make me think I need to check my connections.

    TIA

    What year is your boat?

I had a 1992 CC nautique which was connected in series. This means that the ground wire went from gauge to gauge to gauge. I had an intermittent grounding problem also as you described and was able to fix with the help from midwest CC. Under the dash at the end of the series connections, you will find a large 10g? wire. I believe it was the largest black wire under the dash. Replace this wire and reconnect. This should fix your problem. Hope this helps.

Recently purchased a used 1991 SN; in the process of replacing the impleller I noticed two large ground wires bolted to the engine block......one of them was very loose in the connector.....just something else for your to verify.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.

I should have mentioned it is a 97 SN with a GT-40. I will have some time today to try to find the ground.
