Boat insurance

Hey guys, I am from Ontario, Canada just wondering if anyone out there know who the best is for cheap boat insurance? I have heard of some paying 400 a year and others at 600-800 anyone got ideas?

BOAT US they had the best package . Make sure you get the freeze rider to protect the engine during winter layup. Also try Ski Safe since they are a sponsor .

Also check out Voyager marine. My agreed value policy with no layup is underwritten by progressive. Price is excellent and beat everything else I tried, both then (2007) and as of about 2 weeks ago. They've always been very available when I called. Never had a claim thankfully. So I can't speak to that.

I have mine through Ski-Safe. I've been very happy with them so far. Thankfully, I havent had to make a claim though.

What do you get for the freeze rider, and what is the cost or deductible on it?

I totally get that insurance covers stupidity, but what prevents someone from just cracking the block to get a new motor?

I am with Allstate and have an unbelievable rate, about 1/2 of what anyone else would offer me. I also have auto, home and an umbrella policy through Allstate so I'm sure that was factored in to my rate.

Freeze insurance rider was $30 it must be purchased at the time of policy renewal. I am pretty careful about winterizing but foe 30 bucks its cheap insurance. HAHA
