I believe that it is 1 foot shorter than the 98-99 Airs/Sports.

The 216 is 21'6" so 6" longer than the Sport/Air 2002 and older.

xlair, I would love to hear about your "1200 lb auto ballast" I am planning an install in my 2000 air and it would be helpful to hear what you have and your suggestions. Do you mind PM'ing me or posting here?

Might double check the "same hull as a 206". I believe the 216 is longer and the hull shape is different in the rear. The 206 is a blend of the 196 and the 216.

                I run 3 different set-ups on a regular basis

setup 1) simply stock ballast (400 lbs in the hatch). result: barely anything.

setup 2) stock + 2 wedges (400 hatch, 400 port and 400 starboard side of engine hatch. result: The wake is larger. The shape of the wake will still stay somewhat gradual and you'll still be able to tell youre on a "ski" boat at heart. Yet, it makes a big enough of a difference that I won't wakeboard without them. You'll notice a slight delay in getting on plane but if you know your boat well then you'll have no problem driving in general (at least for the ZR6).

setupt 3) stock + 2 wedges + 1 rear sac + 1 bow seat (400 hatch, 400 port wedge, 400 starboard wedge, 150 seat in the bow or walkthrough, and 750 rear rectangle sac that sits centered between rear bench and engine compartment. result: no gas. This you'll notice. I call it the "Mock V-Drive" setup for obvious reasons. The wake is significantly large and STEEPER than setup 2 and it takes me a while to get the balls to charge it at full speed if ive taken a few days off from the lake. But it's worth it. It will pop you up like no direct drive was ever meant to do. You will definitely offend the TSC2 Hull Gods. However, there are a lot of downsides you have to be careful of. For one, you'll probably have to bump your speed up a few. PP has a hard time (virtually cannot) keep speed below 21 mph. A little below that and the wake will curl over anyway. It takes a good amount of time get get on plane and you'll have to manually back off after you start to plane off, otherwise you'll never get anywhere close to your set speed. A 15-25 min run will use about 1/4 tank. You have to take wide turns and always be aware PP is barely in control. So yea, the more weight the "better," but only if you have a good drive who knows the boat very well, and you have a rider who can take the speed.

My best advice is to experiment as much as you can with the riders you have and you'll eventually find what works best for each person in each condition, etc...

                  Hi Guys

I have just picked up my boat from the docks and my fly high sacs. 2 gravity games rear sacs and Pro x Series rear seat sac for the ski locker.
I was just wondering if anyone has doe this install to a 216 or similar, where they run the vent line for the ski locker sac?
I cant get a good look in the locker but it does not look like there is an opening from the locker to the front bow area or love seat compartment. Does anyone know?
I have a new ballast puppy to install for this sac and would like to vent it up front somewhere if possible.
                  Cheers
