New 210 Wake is SO NICE!

I can't believe more people haven't talked about how good the new 210 wake is...especially compared to the old 210 wake. I finally got my new 210 out for the first time this weekend and I will be honest in that the one thing I was scared of is that I wouldn't like the wake compared to my old 210. Well, I can say I was more than pleasantly surprised!

I ran around ~2100 lbs in my old 210 and I am currently running stock ballast, plus the fly high integrated system, plus an integrated sac in the ski locker, plus 400 lbs of lead in my new 210 (I estimated it around 2400 lbs, but who knows???). Anyways, the wake on the new 210 is SO SICK and I can honestly say I like it better than my old wake...and I NEVER thought I would hear myself say that. The new wake is almost just as steep, but it just has so much more mass behind it and it also doesn't have the trough that was right before the wake on the old 210.

I ran around 24.5 mph at 80' with my old 210 (pefect pass) and ran 24.3 mph with the new 210 (zero off) and was still able to ride at 80'. I also couldn't believe how much difference the hydrogate made in cleaning up the wake. Anywyas, just wanted to share my stoke for the new wake and hopefully you fans of the old 210 wake will get a chance to ride behind a fully weighted newer style 210 because I think you will really like it (believe me, I am a HUGE fan of the old wake, but the new one has it beat IMO)!

glad to hear you're stoked, I know you put a lot of work into your boats... I've ridden behind the new 210 with factory + 800 lbs of lead and think its pretty nice myself although I've never ridden an older 210

I love the new 210 wake as well. Coming from a 230, I expected a little bit of a let down this year. Not so at all! I think I actually like the 210 wake better than the 230 wake.

Congrats on the new boat. I'm so glad to hear that as I will be riding also behind a new model 210 this year. However, I still need to wait till the ice melts on our lake...

HaHa this is awesome. I came off the old 210 wake as well loving it, but as soon as I rode behind the new 210 I didn't regret switching boats, the new wake has such a good consistent pop. Not having the trough is so nice, especially on landings. The wake is awesome!

Jeff this is interesting, lately I have been wondering why most of the Nautique pros ride the 230 because in most of the videos I see of them riding their boats, the wake is consistently curling on them when they hit it. I know behind my 210 the wake is always perfectly clean till at least 90ft back. I always thought the cardinal rule of a good wakeboard wake was that it didn't curl when you hit it no matter what the size.

I actually rode the weighted down 230 at OWC this past November and I honestly think I like my weighted down 210 wake better. Don't get me wrong, the 230 wake was pretty nice, but it did seem to be a little washy at the lip and wasn't as firm as my 210. Maybe it's the way the boats are weighted, but my 210 wake is steep and cleen with a lot of meat behind it:-)

When I bought mine, I started by looking for used 05-06 models because I liked the old wake so much. I almost didn't bother riding behind the new hull because I was convinced the old hull was the end-all. Fortunately, I gave an '08 a try. Once I rode behind it, I thought it was a better fit...and the interior was definitely better for my family. The wake is not as vertical as the old wake, but it's just as solid and is steeper than the competition. Compared to the old wake, the W-W landings are easier on my beat-up knees...that could be less trough or less vert on the down-ramp.

I still ride behind the old hull regularly--it puts out a GREAT wake, but I have a preference for the new hull.

Any of you guys done any surfing behind the newer 210 hulls? Just curious how it compares to the older 210 (which I have) or the 220/230 boats.

The surf wake behind the new 210 blows away the old hull in my opinion. You can surf either side easily which is awesome. The surf wake is also much larger with less weight in the boat, and you don't have to list the boat as far. The wake also has a much bigger area to surf. The surf wake behind the old 210 hull is still really steep which doesn't leave much of the actual wave to surf.

We found that even though putting the hyrdo gate down does make the wake look better, the wake actually loses a lot of its "push" and it is harder to surf. We always surf with the gate up.
