2002 super air w/ 8 liter Python motor

    Hey Bros,

Trying to find out a way to reduce my boat from porpoising. I get up to about 33 mph and it starts. I have the front/center ballast fille and two 75 lb, iron weights in the bow.\\

I have the same boat and engine. I haven't noticed any porpoising at any speed with any loads. What could be the difference between the two boats? Could the prop induce the porpoise? What is on your tower? Could a large weight or drag at that high of center of gravity cause it? My tower is pretty bare on porpoise, er, purpose.

I had a 03 and it would do it around 45 mph if I didnt have the front tank full. but, a buddy of mine
was messing with my perfect pass one time and some how created a porpoising problem. Can't tell you how
to fix it, had to get dealer out to do it.

There was a recall that added a small strip to the back of the hull. It acted like the current gate does and forced the nose of the boat down. My father in law sold his boat before this came out, but my dealer has performed several.

Knightrider: I also have a 2002 SANTE w/an 8.1L python; I run an ACME 644 prop. Just like you describe, my boat begins porpoising around 31-33 mph; even with 1-2 people in the bow. If any of you experienced owners know of a way to correct this issue, then please post it here.

Bchesley: Do you have any information about that recall?

Get with your dealer. They can pull it up in their dealer software. I have not done mine yet and might not. I rarely go that fast.
