I just went through a similar SE vs LE as I purchased a 2006 SE 196. The best way to understand the differences in standard features on the SE vs LE is printing the one or two pages in the brochures for the years you are looking at that are on the correctcraftfan.com WEB site. http://www.correctcraftfan.com/reference/brochures.asp

When I was in the market at the end of last season I was not too concerned about LE vs SE. I ended up with a 2007 LE with zero off and perf pass because it was the best overall deal that I found. The advantage of the LE is the integrated gauges with the depth/air/water temp, the keypad frees up space for the stereo remote. Pop up cleats mean nothing to me as I never leave my boat in the water. The wake is great behind any of them for slalom, which is why we buy closed bow inboards.

Apparently, there were a few 2006 196's that still had the TSC2 hull. But the hydrogate is an option for all of the TSC3 hulls as of 2006.
