    2010 nautique 211 Wakeboard Capabilities

    Hi all,
I'm considering buying a 211, mostly for price reasons otherwise I would be looking at a 210. I have ridden behind the new 210 both stock and with an additional 1000 pounds in it, and love the straight up pop from it. Is the 211 comparable or will I be dissapointed? There is an excellent dealership here that I will be purchasing from, and a Nautique is the way for me to go, but I want to make sure that this boat has the ability to produce a world class wake that I won't be limited by. I have no problems stacking ballast bags all over the boat, any weighting recommendations would also be appreciated. unfortunately I can only test the boat with stock wake...

I am interested in the responses here as well, but one question you might get about the 210 you've ridden behind is: was it an '07 or older 210 or was it an '08 and / or newer, because that's when the 210 hull changed, I think. Could be that the straight up pop you like is the older model?

I have enjoyed our 211, but then again I haven't been WB all that long, plus I slalom and have been teaching the kids. If you are hard core you might not want a crossover; does the 211 you are looking at have 3 ballast tanks?

For WB ballast, I have had great results all around, but have made a really stout wake with full factory ballast 625# (3 tanks) plus 200# of pop products in each rear locker and another 200# in the ski locker. Total 1225#.

Surf wake has been fantastic once we got it dialed in, too.

I would think you could get a nice wake out of the 211, its not ever going to be like the new 210 though. That is designed as a cross over boat that does everything alright, but nothing great.

The 210 will have a wider wake and be bigger with more of a straight up wall (for pop).

I have a friend with an older 211, same hull though, and we had factory ballast full and about 8 people in the boat and I didnt think the wake was that great.

        211 Vs 210

I have a 211 and I think it throws a good wake however a friend of mine has newer 210 and the wake is better for sure. Dont get me wrong, I love my boat but I got to be honest.

If you want a great wake change the hard tanks out for bags. it is pretty easy and you also increase your storage.

the older 210's have a more energized wake that's a little steeper than the new ones regardless of the gate. the only 211 i rode behind was un-weighted and in choppy water. i didn't care for it at all, but that could have been the conditions and the combo of a new wake.

The 211 wake can be made to be very lippy if you don't fill the belly tank, or add extra rear ballast. I run mine at about 2/3 full and get plenty of lift. The biggest downside of the 211 wake is lack of landing ramp. I push most of my jumps out into the flats getting pretty good air but the landings are not as nice as they would be if I were landing on the downslope of the wake.

I had a 05 211 TE and it was a great boat. i put fly high pro x vdrive sacs on top of the tanks in the rear and one really large sac in the center floor locker. The port sac wont fill all the way because of the walk through, but it was enough. The 211 hull was not finicky to side to side weight (unlike my 220 where everything has to be balanced perfect) and the wakeboard wake was huge and clean. If you dont fill the front tank like the last guy said it will porpoise unless you are on perfectly calm water. Boats are designed to run at a specific angle and if you change it with too much weight in back (or front) you may get a different wake but you will have other issues like porpoising. For surfing we just loaded the port side and center tank and center sac and one extra sac under the port seating area. The surf wake was great, but one problem was the vent on the port side taking in water so we had to put duct tape over it when surfing, which we just left on there all the time. The 211 was a great boat and i miss it, escpecially the fact that it fit nicely in a garage and under a 7ft garage door.
