Thought I would give my $.02 on my new promo boat. I had some anxiety about going to the 206 due to how nice my last two 196's had been. Especially my 2004 version. Some on this board skied behind that boat at our tournaments and can attest to how nice it was. My worries about transitioning to the 206 were misplaced. This is the best tracking boat I have had in my 10+ years of being on Nautiques promo team. Whether you have one person or two in the boat, it doesn't matter. It tracks like it is on rails. I thought it would have a significant bow rise. It doesn't. If I didn't have the open bow area in my view, I would swear I was back in my 196. Having heard all the talk about the 22 off bump, it is not deserving of concern. Although it is more evident than my 196, it is not a hindrance. Myself and two club members who spent significant time driving and skiing my 196 each gave it two thumbs up. It felt just as smooth during all phases of the pass as my 196 did. Neither could justify NOT having the open bow considering how nice it drove and skied. It is just as nimble around the dock as a 196. I have not reviewed the trick wake/table due to the fact that both trickers in our club have given it up for the year. I'll know more about that in the spring but from a visual standpoint, it looks very similar to the 196 @ 17, 18 and 19mph. If anything, the table may be a bit smoother which has been the biggest complaint regarding this hull.
Overall, it provides the additional passenger and storage space without sacrificing tracking or ski-ability. As long as Nautique continues to offer this boat in their promo line, I'll be in one.
