There are these black allumn. boxes threw bolted threw the flat area on the side of my tower where you would put flight clips. What are these for?

I confirmed tonight…”wakedesigns.com” is stamped on the sides of the racks. From looking at their website it appears they moved to tubing mounts vs the 4 bolts thru the tower, but there isn’t many pictures on the website. I took a couple pictures of mine also.
Couple comments about problems I’ve had with these…The pins that hold the rack in place are pretty much rusted in place. Hammer & wd-40 failed to break them loose. Also you may notice the two bent bolts and if you look closer the top two are sheared off. Not sure if these were the original bolts intended to be used with the racks or not, I know the backside of the mounts were missing on them so that could have caused the failure. My two on top of the tower have mounts that look exactly like your picture and I haven’t had any problem with them yet. I have been using the top two since the one on the side sheared off and I haven’t had luck breaking the pin free from the mount. Uncertain why someone put 4 board racks on prior to me…guess they had a lot of kids. Just some observations from my experience since having them since November.
I would look at some other options. I think in the near future I may go another route myself and look for some tower clamps models if I have no success in repairing these. I just haven’t been impressed with the ones I got, but i'm not sure if the blame would be 100% due to their design or not.Last edited by 74green; 04-25-2010, 11:21 PM.Current: 2001 Air Nautique GT-40

hmm..the mount on these look different but the rack appears it would still work with the pin mount on your tower.

maybe wakedesigns.com new product line would still work with the old style mount.Current: 2001 Air Nautique GT-40
